So I have been working very, very slowly on my own poopy 8-bit retro jRPG game for years and years. This means I spend a lot of time overthinking and staring really far deeper into vidya games than anyone really should.

Today I have seen the dark abyss that you can only glimpse on edges of rational thought.

Western culture (well, the US at least), needs to come to better terms with the existence of assholes. I myself feared them mightily for many years, even to the point of subconsciously denying the existence of my own. A few years back, I got a short-haired dog. Now I am comfortable with and well adjusted to the sight of an exposed anus.

It would seem Asians have the leg-up here. Now to cure my phobia of crusted snot (e.g. the kid at the end of Kung-fu Hustle). I doubt I will ever find it humorous, but I can at least make some steps towards acceptance.
