Gaming ringtones

Post by Ruldra »

So what gaming ringtones are you guys using at the moment? I got a few but I'm always looking for more options.

Right now I'm using the Starlight Zone theme from Sonic 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TIRzohqEM8

And also got these saved for posterior use:
Cave Story - Egg Corridor (starting from 0:12): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N53BaKKRcoU
La Mulana - Maze of Galious (starting from 0:07)*: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuaJRfcM8wc

*extracted from youtube using KeepVid - thanks BIL!

Hydrocity Act 2, right at the good bit.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

I tend to alternate between Gallantry and Metal Squad.

My message tone is the Operation Wolf opening parachute scene.

For three or so years my ringtone has been the Contra Stage Clear theme (Shattered Soldier version), and my incoming SMS/e-mail sound has been the "New Game Start"-sound from Gradius Rebirth.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

My morning alarm is the stage 2 BGM of Twinbee Yahho. For the regular call ringtone that other people might have a possibility of hearing, I use something decidedly less nerdy/not VG-related.

For quite some time I've been using In The Wind, which is the Stage 3 music from Gradius 3. I've also used Shooting Star (the Stage 2+ intro music from Gradius 2.) at various times as well. I think there was actually an old thread over on the Shmups board about this, but I haven't seen it in a while.

Glad I could help, Ruldra.

I've used the classic Compile extend jingle (Zanac Neo version) before. And like I mentioned over in the VGM topic, had the apocalyptic opening seconds of Alien Soldier's "Alone'Z" for a while - my former college year group had a running joke about XTREME ringtones. Best one was probably Ahnuld's "GET TO DE CHOPPA!"

Before I got stuck with a phone that doesn't allow it to get configured, I had the sound that plays here in Another Code:Two Memories: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... dTQ#t=290s

Alarm: That annoying as fuck tune from Thunder Force (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FvKczaUwI4). Annoying as fuck tune, works fine as an alarm. Don't you hate it when you put a good song for the alarm and you start hating it?

Actual phone call isn't a game, but an arrangement of a Nine Inch Nails song (haters gonna hate, its loud enough for me to hear it which the default ringtones never are for me): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm1SzVB8e1g

A long time my brother composed Guilty Gear's Sol vs Ky song (Conclusion) using the midi palette from my cell. Used it for years.

Toshiharu Yamanishi's 'Like The Wind', from Elemental Master often gets a spin on mine. Funky, snappy and pounding, from back when VGM was VGM :P

Ringtone: "Into the Desert" from Sangokushi Taisen 3
Alarm: "WIN!!!" from Chocobo Racing
This is my signature. It's so unique, nobody else has it.
