Hey Skykid, DDP DOJ BL is missing from the artset list. Never reprinted I guess...

Good call buddy! Especially since I've been wittering on about needing one of them, lol. I think I was awaiting confirmation that it indeed never had a reprint and forgot about it, thanks for the heads up. ;)

Erm........ Been away for a while and I am short on time to search all info out.... I have a ton of Cave kits (maybe all the AMI ones IIRC up until Death Smiles); has the value just been wiped out? Did they reissue the art or the whole kit and can you tell the difference???!!!

some held up niceley and some have plummeted, a full kit (in a nice box) still goes for cashmoney but loose art is not high in value anymore..

Interesting factoid to bump this thread: reprinted Cave Pops are SLIGHTLY shorter. Barely 1cm. Just found this out in putting one away into one of my ULine boxes.

which ones?
I have an original Espgaluda and repro kit and the pops are spot on size wise
same with the doj kit.
* the repro-Luda kit does have a different colored dip sheet. *

It would be cool to find out the differences.

I wouldn't worry about 1cm of size difference, but I did note earlier in the thread that I had a lot of repro and original art side by side and it's the ink that's most obviously different.

The one that stood out the most was Espgaluda. The repro was darker and stronger in colour tone compared to the original, which had a brighter more colourful look.

It's all pretty negligible though.

Typically that stuff will differ by a hair anyway even among originals due to the paper cutters shifting, etc. Same goes for color sometimes too if they split print runs over days, quality of printers working, etc. If Cave is ultra-rigorous at press-checks, all that stuff.

I only added those kit extras related to artsets that got reprinted. AFAIK, Tama arts never got a reprint?

No they didn't. I think there's some confusion here. :)

What I'm meaning to say is (*thinks how to put this*) if an artset got a reprint, then I've listed all the kit additions that need to go with those artsets to make it a full kit. If an artset didn't get a reprint, I haven't bothered to list all the extras related to those kits (I've made an addition to the OP now and marked all the other reprinted artsets as having 'no extras'.)

Basically, since the thread is about reprints, I'm trying to indicate how easy it is to build a full kit by grabbing, say, an Ibara reprinted artset, the game and a box (which is everything, baggies and PCB feet aside), versus a Ketsui or Galuda, which require far more than just the repro art.

Hope that makes sense. ;)

These were AOU promo pieces that were also given to distributors to include in kits. I don't think it belongs in this artwork list you are tracking. Other promo pieces that were put in some kits were the deathsmiles skeleton, mushi rubber beatle, and spike ball thing.

Ah, I see, thank you for the clarification Dave. I know these ended up in kits, but I wasn't sure if they were stock kit objects. Can I just confirm, is that for the CD as well? I thought the CD came as standard to advertise the game, it was just the piggy I was unsure about.

I'm sure about the piggy, as this was also called out in EOJ's thread as being found in other kits by one distributor at the time. Not so sure about the CD.

Mushihimesama Futari kit came with three different types of posters. Was all three types reprinted? And a bump to a great thread! Lets keep this up :D

Futari came with a single poster: the 2nd one listed above.

It was reprinted at one of the very early Matsuri's, along with Matsuri original posters Instruction Card Design and Arcade Poster: No Logo.

Never heard of many reprinted kits, much less those with 3 posters. For a time, those posters were quite sought after.

As for the MMP kit, the game didn't sell like gang busters to arcades. For the record, I think all the kits came w/ the extra crap, although I'm sure they just stuck them in as they had stock. That's just a hunch....

Similar deal w/ the DS Skeleton and the Futari rubber bugs: Given out at the show, (extra stock?) put in the kits. The spikey ball one I'm pretty sure is a Tama promo item.

AOU show items that went quite quickly and didn't show up in kits (that I know of)
ESPGaluda prototype instruction card
ESPGaluda II Neckalce
Pink Sweets Ring/Necklace thing

Oh, the memories...

Cool, two out of three ain't bad (if thats the proto instruction I'm thinking of, gotta pic?)

Blah, so wait: am I to include the piggy as a stock kit object or not? Perhaps I should note it as optional for a FK? :|

Don't those piggies have batteries in them? They should start to eat through kits anytime now.

No right answer to that question I don't think. I'm sure there were kits with out them, but there were a heck of a lot with them.

This poster has been recognised in 2 different DS kits recently, it's B1 and folded. I know nothing about it, and I don't recognise it from any matsuri (where posters weren't folded anyhow.)

Pic kindly donated by Adderall. Can someone please clarify how this ended up in kits and where it's from etc?:

This poster came out some time after the game was released, no? Was it in a "new" kit? I would assume all the new kits were gone, but that may not be true.
