Ultramarc Servo Stick opinions

Post by J3SteR82 »

Was wondering if anyone has bought or used the Ultramarc Servo sticks? I wanted to use these in my arcades but im worried they might be good for one game but not the other. Was hoping they were middle of the road for fighting games and shmups...

The servo stick is based off the Sanwa JLW sticks. It's comparable to a Seimitsu LS-32, but I find them a bit less sloppy.
The JLW is great for classic games, not bad for shmups, but I wouldn't recommend them for fighting games. If you're playing the classics like pacman, galaga, donkey kong, they're perfect. Beat-me-ups too.

I think the main concern is how well the switching works. Though I havent picked one up yet so i can't comment on that, but I'm interested in what others have experienced.

Want them for a mame cab so kinda need them to be decent across the board. Thanks for your insight, hopefully a few more people can chime in :)

certain sticks are great for all purposes for general gamers.

That said, I don't think any pro gamers consider 1 kind of stick, or 1 kind of buttons to be best for everything. It's split down the board between pro fighters, and pro shmups. If you want to BEST stick for fighting you get one stick, if you want the BEST for shmups, you get another, there is no best for both as these kinds of games function differently.

That said, a lot of sticks are great for both for regular gaming if you aren't trying to set records or play for money.
