EDIT: Making my post a master list of all the games that get mentioned in this topic
Unfortunately I have little to contribute as far as the list goes but I must say I'm happy you made this topic. As a new PS2 importer with only DoDonPachi dai ou jou, I was thinking of making one myself after the search feature didn't bring up a topic like this. The Xenocide File for PS2 is severely lacking...
Already Released:
Raiden III
Espgaluda
DoDonPachi dai ou jou
Gunbird 1 + 2
Silpheed: The Lost Planet
Super Lite 2000: Psyvariar Revision
Super Lite 2000: Psivariar Medium Unit
Psyvariar: Complete Edition
Psyvariar 2

Re: complete list of ps2 shumps
Technically its DDP 3 or DoDonPachi Dai ou jou. DDP 2 is DoDonPachi 2: Bee Storm made by IGS. There is no port for DDP2 (or mame emulation for that matter).fraggore wrote: dodonapachi 2

I think I read somewhere that the Dragon Blaze/Sol Sivide was getting a PAL release, or was it the Sengoku Ace/Blade collection?
Hmm...cant remember.

They are basically the same game with slightly different level designs. Revision seems more polished, so I guess it was made as a modification of Medium Unit. I don't know why they made 2 versions.Xexyz wrote:Added
BTW, I've never played nor really followed information on the origional psyvariar. What's the difference between Revision and Medium Unit? Are there just balance tweaks or something or are they different games?
SHOOT IT QUICKLY !

Well as I'm trying to collect every shmup released on PS2, I pretty much have a complete list of what is avaible. So... cut and pasted below:
*Removed scroll down instead to see updated list*
(I'm not collecting Korean & Asian releases, unless there is something special or different about them)

PAL and U/C releases are generally identical except for the framerate and resolution. If I had to choose I would always prefer the U/C release. When things go wrong the PAL release is slower and has black borders (like silpheed). But if they do it right they include a 60hz mode.
Generally I always prefer the Japanese releases, and get the US and PAL releases for bargain bin prices just for the sake of collecting (and seeing different covers and being able to read the text).

I wonder the same, being a Psikyo fan myself.Xexyz wrote:Ah yes, Choaniki, the... homophobic shmup
Is it any good gameplay wise? I think I heard somewhere that former Psikyo employees worked on it. I am a fan of Psikyo shmups even if the company itself re-used the same GD game engine for almost every shmup they ever made.
First, is this game homophobic, homoerotic, or (most likely) both?
In either case this isn't my thing. And even if it were, I don't like mixing shooting with sex in my imagination/experience.
Still, I might break down and get the game if it had some quality gameplay. Anyone have an opinion?

Well the few times I played it I think it was horrible. But then I'm biased, because the graphics are so ugly and the whole concept of the game is wrong in all possible ways, I doubt I could look past all that and enjoy the game even if it had good gameplay.professor ganson wrote:Still, I might break down and get the game if it had some quality gameplay. OK, thanks visuatrox. I'm going to skip this one, even though I'm somewhat close to a complete PS2 collection myself (minus the PAL releases).visuatrox wrote:Well the few times I played it I think it was horrible.
