$1 million to the guy who brought us Make The Land Flat, and Monkey Slapper 1 and Monkey Slapper 2.

It may just be me. Maybe it is fun having to be nice and cruel to your sheep repetitively to expand your sphere of Getting On With The Game Already. I would have made you BE the Monkey. But I guess that's just crazy town.

The king of overpromising, overhyping and underdelivering starting a kickstarter? Color me surprised.

I actually bought Black & White when it was new (in 2001!), and I think I might have made it to the 2nd land.

My favourite part was cleaning up the creature's poo. Revolutionary!

Back on topic though, Populous sucked.

First off, thank Fuck this isn't related to Project Modus. Completely different ball-game there.

Looking at their page they've got a picture of all the games that the combined team's members have worked on in the past:

I think that's Rise Of The Machines I see there in the corner. I wouldn't be using that as a showcase... unless I actually wanted people to go home in a bag.

lol at that big pile of shit

and molyneux's shit-eating smirk, too

I also remember when Black & White came out. Fable was a good idea in search of a game. I guess they've started to work it out for the newer installments. I can't believe nobody ever looked at that design and went "oh Shit, what are combo chains supposed to do again?"

In the Kickstarter page they mention Risen, so they probably fucked up and put the wrong game cover.

Peter Molyneux knows how to deliver. I cannot begin to stress how potentially groundbreaking this technology is.

Regarding the picture, I have some weird affection for Rise of the Robots (SNES version) in the same way as the original Street Fighter / Fatal Fury / Art of Fighting, as a single-player challenge to break the AI of each opponent.

Terminator Salvation's peeking out from behind Black & White 2. Was that game as bad as the movie?

I couldn't get into it either, but I've been meaning to give Populous II a try for some time.

Except all of them.

Populous II: Flat Harder With A Vengeance.

Sim City 2000 comes with the flattening game, along with some other systems as gravy. And there's like 3 sequels for it I've never played yet..

Not really wanting to jump on the Peter-bashing trend, but I remember he stated Populous was born because of his inability to make a character go around or above a mountain. There's walking around technical hurdles, and there's just lazy/incompetent. How deeply is he involved into this project?

(Also, screw all the Fable games)

Is it possible to make negative contributions to a Kickstarter? I want my money back for the piece of garbage that was Black and White.

It's really threads like this that make me wonder if we aren't all secretly the same person. Like we've all lived the same sperg life.

This forum scares me sometimes.

Fascinating how Square Enix' "sandbox" attempts (or the most recent King's Bounty sequels for that matter) are absent from threads about the guy's, um, brand.

I never spent money on any of Molyneux's later games (Read as : Anything he made at Lionhead), because I realized they were becoming all hype and no substance, but yeah, lots of people here have been burned by this guy.

At least Dungeon Keeper was kind of fun to fool around with. :p

"Curiosity: Who gives a shit what's inside the fucking box?" is pretty much an admission that the guy has no more interesting ideas in him and is just trying to feed his already bloated ego with pretentious crap.

Why... why would people give money to Peter Molyneux based on his word that he'll make a great game?

Has anyone got rich using Kickstarter yet? I thought you're obliged to spend the money gathered this way on something else than yourself.

There's no one keeping track of how you use the money.

Molyneux is such a hack. I wish this was a kickstarter for him to stop making games. Pledge $1,000: knock him in the teeth.

That concept art looks so shitty. Sad thing is this will get funded.
