I can't sleep because I wake up feeling hungry at 5 AM, realized I didn't have dinner before going to bed, therefore spending 10 hours on an empty stomach. I go to the convenience store, and look up to the sky for no reason... right as a blue shooting star passes above.

I haven't smiled like this since I was a kid.

It really is never too late to go to school. I'm 22 and have worked at a mine for 4 years. I was making $55k/year, but education is much more important to me. especially when I live in hell.

This is kind of a weird bit of national pride, but I love that lately Canadian Whisky and Beer manufacturers have been embracing and promoting our role in American Prohibition by remembering the history of our products being bootlegged into the US. Much of it is pomp and circumstance, but it still makes me smile.

Seeing Justin Bieber, Carly Ray Jepsen and Marianas Trench booed or eliciting a lukewarm response, while Gordon Lightfoot got a fantastic reaction. Shows the CFL fans in attendance have respect for great music with a history and not for what's popular at the moment. Plus Lightfoot is a Canadian music Icon. I'm now relaxing and listening to The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and smiling.

Finished some time ago, but purchased lately as I felt a PAL copy was needed under my roof. The disc took some restorative treatment and then I gave it a go to see how it worked.
Did I forgot how... PSX the music was (I mean it in a good way). Appears that I genuinely missed this game and these characters. Heck, even the half-bad, half-good voice acting (what little is there) pleased me (basically the same actors who failed in Persona 3 FES, failed here as well or they just sound the type).
What I find most irresistible is that I can tell the devs are into this kind of dungeon crawling as much as I am. There are other dungeon crawlers with real-time combat, other games with bosoms and bad voice acting; last but not least, other Japanese games about kids on the run, but this here game has it all. (You guessed it, I like that other Capcom dungeon crawler about kids on the run too.) On top of that, Crimson Tears is NOT a celebrity of hidden gem gaming (a game known for being unknown back then, fetching high prices now because it had low sales).

Can you see why I'm hesitant about playing Spelunky now? Platforming is that other thing I like in my games as much as dungeon crawling, I saw this and it is, like all best things, free. I almost fear to touch it.

Perchance do you like Roguelike games like NetHack? Because if you don't, you really need to check it out. Turn-based combat with treasure EVERYWHERE, plus NetHack is still technically in development after more than 20 years.

I know about NetHack, but I re-played BoFV: Dragon Quarter and Shin MegaTen III this year, thus the turn-based variety can wait. I have yet to play through Baroque (PS2), Ehrgeiz (Forsaken Dungeon), re-play Crimson Tears and... enough said about Spelunky. NetHack can wait for my joyful reunion with computer gaming. I need to get some life too.
