So, meh?
Well, keep in mind this gen has been a completely different beast. The GameCube and Xbox didn't canbalize sales from Sony like the Wii and X360 did.

This sounds like a sensible compromise, at least then every time Friendly bumps it to the top of the page (an average of six times daily) you'll know there's no useful information in it bar Sony PR marketing.

When Sony get some decent shmups on their system/s, then it will be news.

Why do the forum moderators allow insults like that? I've got an even better idea: If you don't care about a topic, stay out of it. Problem solved.

PS3 closing the gap was quite newsworthy and certainly has more informational value than what you are drinking right now, or if you are drunk. Why did I post it? Because no-one else did. It has more to do with video games and the video game industry than who just died, who becomes president of the USA or if Twinkies are no longer being made. So why should there not be a topic about this? There was one about Sony's losses, too (actually, two of them, guess who created them)? (Of course no-one bothered to create a follow-up on how Sony managed to drastically reduce losses).

Dear mods/admins, I kindly ask that skykid not be allowed to post in my threads anymore. His constant trolling serves no purpose other than being disruptive, and as you can see it has started to rub off on others. Unsurprisingly. His agenda is quite clear.
No other forum would tolerate this level of harassment and stalking, why does this?

Because the moderators tend to not look at Off-Topic for obvious reasons

People on this forum all have ideas of what makes this forum the perfect place.

Its not supposed to be somewhere you live, just somewhere you visit. Your seat doesn't even have to get cold in order to move to another thread, so all the bitching is really unnecessary. I don't go into some threads for the same reasons. I'd probably just have lots of negative things to say. Well, people say that about me anyway lol.

Yes, that's how a sensible person would act (as opposed to bullying/stalking, calling for censorship etc.).

Yeah, that's not even close to reasonable, that's just straight up authoritarianism. I don't like Friendly's Sony posts as much as the next guy, but he's no Elixir and I'll be damned if he should have any kind of special restrictions just because we don't care for what he's talking about.

Skykid, we may be fine with each other these days, but you do realize that there are a lot of people on this forum that would like restrictions placed on you as well, right? Annoyance is in the eye of the beholder, but unless someone is breaking the rules you should just ignore it. Frankly these threads wouldn't be half the problem they are and would fade into obscurity faster if we stopped bumping them with, "Man, Friendly's annoying" posts.

And MX7, you've thrown outright personal attacks at me in direct violation of forum rules, so who are you to be supporting any kind of posting restrictions.

We are absolutely fine, but I'm unsure why you're recently so invested in being a tentative voice of reason.
If "lots of people" want to place restrictions on me, no problem. Infamy is preferable to being prolifically boring, so I'll take it.

It's obvious that Friendly has adopted off topic as a Sony related blogspot through which to perform passive agressive voluntary work on behalf of a blue chip, but his threads are mostly the same thread split unnecessarily into other threads: it's not so unreasonable to ask that those threads are combined, that's standard practice on most forums.

But freedom of speech is freedom of domain, of course; we'll look forward to similarly colourful contributions in the months to come.

The only thing that's rubbing off on people is your Sony and anti-competitor PR masquerading as pseudo journalism. Sadly, that makes trolling very easy for people, so you may as well stop crying innocence and deal with it.

mesh control has at least come up with the most valid reason for anti-censorship, so carry on:

Wii U is being released in the America and Japan within weeks. I assume this will put a dent in PS3 sales.

I must have missed something.... why don't we do this. Make a "Sony Love In Thread" and a "Sony Hate on Thread". That way we have less screaming and yelling.

I actually still like Sony quite a bit, in the beginning the 360 versions wound up better. But after a few exclusives I was really impressed and saw what advatages the system had visually over the 360 when the system was catered to. It was the multiplatform titles that were a shame. Although now that's not so much the case. There are a lot that are better or the same as the 360 version. Often I will get the PS3 version do to the higher end audio.

EDIT: Holy shit... this thread blew up. I entered that post and a whole page had appeared while I was typing it.

To be honest I didn't really notice a thing until Skykid came in.... I know he hates Sony though. @Skykid.... should we start talking about Metal Gear in here and really blow the roof off of this thread. You know you want to.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

We don't have love/hate threads for other corporations either. For good reason: It would be very kindergarten. Corporations don't love you, all they want is your money.
Contrary to what some believe, I really don't worship Sony at all. They have done their fair share of anti-consumer bullshit.

I think PS3 is good and solid hardware. It used to get a lot of unfair flak in this forum, usually by the same people who kept repeating the same negative mantra, long after it was no longer true.
This generation, PS3 is my console of choice. Except for the botched launch (stupid initial price) it did more things right than wrong. It had hdmi from the start, Blu Ray out of the box, wifi built-in (except for the 20GB launch model that was soon discontinued), a regular hdd built-in that can easily be swapped out, bluetooth (you can use all sorts of bluetooth devices), wireless controllers with built-in rechargable batteries, USB instead of proprietary ports (you can use many different USB devices such as game pads, arcade sticks or even keyboards) and free online gaming, no region locking (except for P4A).

PS3 did way more right than wrong. Maybe Crazy Ken shouldn't have gone for the weird Cell-based architecture that cost Sony dearly, but from my perspective as a consumer it didn't really matter once game studios got the hang of it; after all it wasn't my money that Sony lost. It's just a shame it didn't get more Japanese support from the beginning, because if not for all the shmups going to Microsoft's system instead, there would have been no reason for me to buy a 360. I have no buyer's remorse as far as 360 is concered either, but the ammount and diversity of high profile exclusives is undeniably way better on PS3. PS3 even got the best current gen motion controller, which anyone who has played House of the Dead Overkill and Killzone 3 with PS Move can attest to. So, what's not to like?

At the start of this generation, PS3 did incredibly bad, and 360 did incredibly well. PS3 has since made an amazing recovery. That was the point of this thread.
