Fire Shark/Same! Same! Same! Capacitor value

Post by Artemio »

I just got this board, and although it works right now they did made a repair job in it. However, the value of the capacitor they adapted can't be read, and I'd prefer to replace it and have a more aesthetic job done in it.

If you happen to have the board, please let me know the value of the capacitor. It is the one marked C8, highlighted in yellow below:

Yes, I know it still needs some cleaning...

Thanks a lot man, I imagined it would be 220 as the one above, but better to confirm. Cheers.

I happened to notice from other PCB picture in the net that I might be missing another two other cap.

If I raise the volume, video loses sync slightly so I guess this might be caused by an issue around these caps.

It does have the one in the left, however it isn't the original one, I can see it was replaced and I don't know if it is the original value. It reads 104K (0.1uF). And in the pictures I've seen there are caps in positions C12 and C13, unlike my board. Could you please give me the values for those if it isn't too much trouble?

C14 in my board is a 470uF 16V cap.

Thanks a lot.

Replaced the capacitor with the 22uF since it was 35uF when received, and added the two extra 0.1uF caps, and sync works perfectly now, although these are part of the audio circuit somehow it affects sync if they are not preset.

I based my decision to add them since they are indicated in the MB3730 amp diagram before the speaker.

Yeah, all three of those green caps read 104K. Good job!

Thanks for the help man =)

Now I am getting my ass kicked by it, and happily so. I used to play it on Sega Genesis, and man.. was it easier there...
