I see you've taken Jeff Daniel's words in LOOPER to heart. Its my favourite scene in the movie:
"Go to China!"
"No France"
"Go to China!"
"No France"
"Look, I'm from the future. Go to China."

Good luck bro. Most of the stories you told me about China involved the possibility of dying in a road accident so try to avoid doing that at least.

We'll all come over in a couple of days mate. 10 or so house guests before you unpack would make a lovely start for you. I'd say we'll stay for a month. I'll have your bed thanks.

Seriously though - good luck, and enjoy it!

And I'm still on for tonight. I'm looking forward to playing something other than DoDonPachi Maximum, which I adore, but have pushed as far as I can.

And I'm still gaggy for us to get a new game in Casino. What would we install if we could have anything?

I would adore SDOJ there. We all would (apart from Dan76 and hzt, who hate shmups (joke!)).

If I knew I could sell it for what I paid for it, I could go for it, but I've not the balls to know it would hold value.

Come Spring 2013 it will be interesting to see what price SDOJ kit will fetch. Personally I think it will hold it's value. Look at the Akai Katana kit with the thing in it, you know, the whatsitsname with the thing and the other thing that has the scrolly openy uppy thing on the other thing in it.

That thing is worth more than the GDP of Swaziland. :D

Wicked night at Casino last Thursday, and nice to stay a bit late. I want to get back into the habit of that (or did I just turn up early). And I am now besotted once more by Raiden Fighters Jet. I'm gaggy to get back and play that again.

i picked up the garegga over on ao, get tomorrow/today :D i might be down at the new year i will bring it down if people want to play it.

just seen that casino has been gutted of a lot of cabs today over on j+ as well, hope you guys soldier through it and keep the community going in there. it was a real pleasure to meet the guys i did earlier this year and was hoping to get down before this happened, i could kind of sense that things were getting wound up a bit with the dbac going and the shmups reducing. i was hoping to get down whilst it was still as packed as it was earlier this year :(

Ah well! You enjoy it! And we'll soldier on.

I'm still considering that Fixeight board - but I think only CHI and I would really get into it (it being a Outzone sequel).

So it's double fun?

Seriously, my vote for next game in the sit down cab goes to Strikers 1999.

Looks like casino is downsizing :( It was inevitable I guess. Whenever I was in there it there on Saturday daytime it was dead. Sad day nonetheless.

I'm really glad I went to London and got to visit this place before this happened, really sad that you guys are loosing this oasis of cool arcade goodness.

Strikers 1999 is my favourite in the series, so no objections from me if it goes in the sit down cab.

Here's the first post of the linked thread. I hope I'm right that this post refers to a day on or before the day I was last in Casino (last Thursday with hzt, CHI and JDE). If I'm right, then us lot have already seen the damage, and there's still enough cabs for us to use left.

(The post's date is Saturday, November 18th)
JAMMA+ member dysde wrote: Wow what a day.

It started with a cold cold morning and scraping the ice of the car, Aran (Hammer) arrives and we set off for London, stopping at Northampton Services for breakfast with Martin The Deliveryman (no decent cabs in there to talk about).

We continue to London and arrive at Leisure Casino on Tottenham Court Road sometime shortly before 11am. Rcantor77 was stood there already waiting for us and he was also shortly followed by Virtvic and Chuckie Egg. We waited and chatted for a while and then John S (Electrocoin) arrived and the 6 of us set about our days activities.

This may sadden some members, but some (not all) machines have been removed today to make way for Pool Tables. John has had to make a choice about the direction of the arcade because it doesn't take anything like enough money to justify the operating costs.

So for about 2-3 hours, we removed cabs from the arcade and then helped the arcade staff rearrange what was left. In Total 8 Jamma uprights have been removed leaving only 1 which is now upstairs. Also 3 of the Duet cabs have been removed and another lifted upstairs. There are about 9-10 Duets left in the building. Also remaining downstairs are the 6 SF4 cabs and 2 Megalo? sit down cabs, whilst vids left upstairs are Sea Wolf, Landing High Japan and a Twin Driver (oh and a pinny)

We worked very well as a team lifting cabs up the stairs and taking turns. Even John S pitched in and was lifting cabs! Every so often we'd have a little breather and John would start telling us all interesting/fascinating stories and facts. Once completed, we all sat down in a nearby cafe and were very kindly treated to lunch by the man himself.

It was a long slog home, or seemed like it, far busier on the roads than it had been in the morning, but we made it back in good time and got Martins van unloaded before calling it a day. Almost all the upright machines are in my unit to be played and enjoyed by collectors. The 3 Duets have been unloaded to additional storage I keep and will hopefully find their way into the unit one day. There are 2 uprights that are rehomed elsewhere on Perma-Loan basis.

I'm quite sure the guys would agree, whilst sad to be removing/rescuing cabs from the arcade and despite the hard work involved, that it has been a great day out. My extreme gratitude and thanks go to Martin, Aran, Roger, Alex and Vic. Without the guys help today it wouldn't have happened and cabs could have been lost forever, because as we have been told, the alternative was the skip!.

I'm sure plenty of pics have been taken today. I'll reserve the next post for mine.

D
So, I'll bring Striker 1999 tomorrow.

The flame still burns, so it's worth installing a game!
