Of course, the DEA and the US Congress might have something to say about that.
Colorado legalized it to sell in licensed establishments. Washington legalized it to sell in state liquor stores. I doubt the Obama administration will respond positively to either move, considering their track record.

Obama's administration has been god-fucking-awful on state marijuana law changes. They sent out hundreds of forfeiture threats to dispensaries in California and Colorado and shuttered hundreds of businesses in the process. They shut down the oldest dispensary in California by threatening their landlord with the forfeiture of their building AND millions of dollars in back rent, and have just started moving against Harborside in Oakland, a move that has the city of Oakland filing suit against the feds. These two law changes just give them an even larger opportunity to grab property. Maybe that'll change in the second term, but I seriously doubt it. Presumably, one doesn't destroy the lives of thousands of people because you are planning deciding to change course.

No, the administration stretches much further than just Obama's ability to approve or veto bills. Most importantly, Obama has created all these "czars" to circumvent the normal legislative process. Bush Sr. had created the role of a "drug czar" to act as an adviser on drugs, like the surgeon general is to health. However, Obama has created all of these other various czars to drive American policy, not the elected legislators. For this reason, he should be impeached.

But, the American people have spoken. And so have convicted felons, illegal immigrants, Disney characters, and dead people, for sure.

Yep, and that's the funny thing to. Do people realize if Romney won he I honestly think he wouldn't be able to get rid of it. After taking away a few things Obama/Romney are one of the same.

It's been a real nice change to have an intelligent man in the White House the last four years, even if he was the inheritor of a shitty situation. I'm proud of the US voters for keeping him there, good work folks.

From another site I visit ..
As far as I can tell, Romney basically ran on the premise that he had already achieved everything else there was to do in life, and a great capstone would be winning the presidency.

He changed his positions whenever it suited his audience, evaded most questions about policy specifics, borrowed talking points and advisers from the last two Republican candidates and basically just tried to blur his way into the Oval Office on a platform of narcissistic self-glorification.

We've seen candidates run campaigns before that were essentially just masturbatory exercises (Right, Newt?) but Romney's the first guy to blow a billion dollars doing it as the candidate of a major party.

How can people be this mentally backward?

Someone should call Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Cuba, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Ukraine and the United Kingdom, and tell them to repeal their universal healthcare bills for corporate privatisation, and stop being such a bunch of socialist bastards.

Incidentally, Afghanistan and Iraq now have universal healthcare... paid for by the United States taxpayer.

I'm happy America didn't elect a blatant liar. I also think it's interesting that the NYT's Nate Silver and the other math nerds were basically right and all that flack coming from the right and traditional punditry about skewed polling was bullshit https://twitter.com/cosentino/status/26 ... 32/photo/1

I'm glad Obama got re-elected but he ain't the second coming. This article sums up my thoughts much better than I could

Well Obama has done a tremendous effort of eroding religious liberties while in office.

How?

The Democrats didn't run against Romney's Mormon belief. Obama is the only Protestant in the race. (We all know that "religious liberties" is code for "that man goes to my church and I think he drinks the same beer as I do.")

The kerfluffle with the Catholic Church was basically the Church saying "OH LOOK WE CAN MEDDLE WITH WHAT OUR EMPLOYEES BUY WITH THEIR INSURANCE NOW," after Obama's team realized they needed to tone back their first stance to accommodate the Church. And the truth is that while philosophers and legal scholars might say that the Catholic Church had a right to feel threatened, the average Catholic didn't want the Church to get that kind of power to veto what their employees (who may or may not have signed off on the whole transubstantiation thing) and don't even agree with their Church's stance on this issue. And that is literally the only issue that comes to mind about "religious liberties." This is not the silliest, most extreme claim being made about the President's record, but it's up there. It doesn't seem to be grounded on anything but that one case.
