Very nice to meet you guys today! Highlights include Spadgy vs Progear (good show, man!) and me finally getting to play Raiden DX. I see why it's held in such high regard.

Yo, great to meet you emph, thanks for dropping by. Sorry it was so short-lived but it was good to see someone making use of the old machines. Hope your movie was good (as good as Dredd? I'll watch the movie thread for your comments ;))

The lack of airflow was quite memorable. BTW, those guys playing Galaga, are they regulars? The big guy who took a powernap before tearing it up in Galaga was a sight worth coming back for.

The most regular of regulars. The guy you speak of is affectionately known as 'Pac Man' Craig, because of all the time he used to spend on the game. Now it's just him and the other guy (Dave?) on Galaga. Craig is the one who clocked it out at 99990 (1 more digit and it resets iirc.)

They're in there every day I think.

Just catching up after a bout of being an ill wimp.

Great to meet you and your friend emphatic. Always nice to put a face to a name. How was the rest of your stay? Fit anything else into your trip?

And, yep, as Skykid says its Craig who's the big chap. He and John (not Dave!) are two lovely gentle guys who have been going to Casino since the beginning of time. Didn't John used to be in some breezily famous band CHI?

As for Casino's number - let me have a look. I think the place is called 'Casino Leisure' when searching for such things...

Well, we went to the (very loud) Cinema, then spent most of Friday walking. And walking. Having coffee. Then, more walking.

Sadly, I'm not in China (or Korea) at the moment. Timing issues. Can you PM me the details?

I think the lesson to be learned here is: before donning an elaborate costume at a fancy dress party, make sure you know what everyone else is wearing.

Cool night! And aside from the obvious, I don't think I made a tit out of myself!

CHI replied:

Its not John its Jeff:-
Second from the right at the top

The Pasadenas did pretty well. I think "Riding on a Train" was their biggest hit
I first saw Jeff in the arcades in 1989/90 in Oxford St Arcade while I was playing Hellfire.
He was a regular from 2003 at Goodge until about 3 years ago.
CHI - Ask Craig and John when Jeff was last sighted? I'd be interested to know.

Life imitating art DEL - there's nothing wrong with that.

And those Halloween photos! Looks like something special went down.

Finally, sorry I missed Casino last week - I had some time off unwell followed by a sudden conference visit.

So - who's about this week. I'm off all this week, so super flexible.

(And if anybody fancies coming over for some board games one evening this week, I'm up for it!).

EDIT: And before I put these on offer to the wider forum, I have this games promo tat that any of you Casino Crew massive can have for free...

Hitman Absolution tie (so a plain red tie, but branded as Hitman on the rear label.
Hitman Absolution 2x matchbooks and some fictional businesscard
Hitman Absolution small action figure. I guess it's in the SD style
LittleBigPlanet Jak and Daxter character keychains, Pretty lovely detail these
Resistance 3 miniature 'green plastic army men'. A little sealed pack of humans and aliens.
Finally Fantasy XI promo DVD and weird cheap plastic 'necklace' given out at Gamescom 2007
A Tom Clancey's Ghost Recon lighter - a cheap version of a Zippo, unused, but getting on a bit an so a little tatty (it's been kicking around the backs of drawers for ages!)
An EVE Online 'Quafe' hipflask and 'Quafe' T-shirt

I've also got tonnes of unused promot T-Shirts, but that's for another day.

I'm off this week as well but I'll probably just come down Thursday unless anyone really wants to do tonight.

edit: never mind actually I can't do that weekend

Also it's my birthday next week and I was thinking of doing something like James's party at the weekend (Saturday 17th), not 100% sure I cant be bothered just after doing the Halloween thing tho... depends how many people would want to come.

I can't be bothered faffing with PMs. Do any of you zombie lovers fancy this tomorrow evening?

http://2.8hourslater.com/

If you volunteer it's all free. One training session, then a session as a zombie, then finally a complimentary session of running away from zombies. Did I mention it's free?

I've missed out on too many social things with you lot recently - all my own fault.

So is something happening November 17th? And if you do have another thing at yours

I'm also now not down this week, as Mrs spadgy has sprung a surprise holiday on me - two days in a cabin in the woods just outside London, so nothing glamourous, but no access to London!

Did you mean to complete this sentence?

And no for 17th I realised I can't do it but I'm up for having some kind of meet/party soon-ish if someone can bring a projector again, no one's been playing much at Casino recently and Illyrian hasn't been able to make it to anything at mine yet.

@Rupert
I was talking about this (or something similar) with someone just the other day, but I cant' make it... next time!

If I had checked this thread before the event finished, yes I would have loved to go. :(

Also I'll be down this evening, from 5:30 onwards. Anyone else around?
