Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
I could show up in some Nantucket reds and Sperry's.
Maybe I'll buy a suit sometime here. I have to start looking for a real job soonish anyhow and I doubt that would go over well at an interview.

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
I finally got around to uploading some pics of my crappy watches. There's no way I'd ever display my "collection" in some fancy watch box unless I had some reputable watches to show off. I didn't just buy them... but I just opened them and wore them around after months [and years] of collecting dust. I normally do not wear watches, yet I feel compelled to buy these trinketsxbl0x180 wrote:Someone needs to start a "what watch are you wearing?" thredI'd fork over for a Stowa if the seconds hand point to the dial markings as precisely as possible. It irritates the hell outta me to see this and it can range from some cheap Casio up to a bloated/overpriced Baume And Mercier. It's not as bad as some of the crooked number markings on some garish fashion watches, but it drives me nuts whenever I pay close attention.
I will take a pic tomorrow of a horrible watch I've been going OCD over and see if I can upload it on this topic

Windows 8 Pro
A worthwhile upgrade. Give it a shot and once you're over the slight learning curve, you'll be even more productive than before.

this is not really the correct usage of this thread but I ordered some books recently (from yesasia) and instead of one of the Japanese ones I got some gay butler manga magazine with the barcode for what I ordered stuck on the side.

It's annoying but also fairly amusing

AND as if a Namco stick isn't cool enough already, this one has a delicous surprise:

Yes indeed, a kindly soul has added an extremely convenient DB15 connector. It doesn't get more awesome than that.

Namco sticks are the classic shit. Fuckin BOSS!
Those used to go for nutzo prices on SRK...right after SFIV dropped. People went joystick crazy.
Nice get...+DB15!

I know right? I was so pissed because I used to have one, bought when they were pretty much the only decent stick you could get for PS1, and my father threw it out ... </3Matskat wrote:Namco sticks are the classic shit. Fuckin BOSS!

This thread got a lot more awesome

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Alright. My last pic or two might not have been 'awesome' in some peoples opinions but I just got this in today and I don't give a rats ass what anyone thinks. It's f'ing awesome. Matty Collector had a sale for He-Man's 30th and they were $30 for both.

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)

Ladies and laddies, I announce my entrance to the dark side of the force.

So, my nephew got an X360, was going to put the PS2 aside anyway, so he asked to trade it for that X360 controller I had. So it cost me just $20. At last, a PS2 for a fair price! But it came with a controller that's a horrible generic imitation of a controller that was horrible in the first place. As a solution to that, my next acquisition is:

Joytech controller, $12. Not perfect, but much more comfortable than the Dualshlock.

Dude...that rules. If I had the room in my kingdom I'd be all over that. MotU is excellent. Wish I looked like He-Man.Octopod wrote:Alright. Oh, you're a He-man - just not the 'roided out Schwarzenegger / Ka-Zar type. You're more along the lines of a sea captain or long-haul truck driver. Manly men of their own right, but more intellectual and restrained than an axe-battler.drauch wrote:Wish I looked like He-Man.

Ever thought of taking up pipe smoking?

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Being compared to Cledus from Smokey and the Bandit is pretty high on the compliment scale.
I've been called the longshoresman at two jobs now, as well as various truck driving personalities. I've contemplated the pipe/cigars, but I generally find smoking pretty hideous on multiple levels. I'm totally fine with roids, though, but I don't want to have to buy new clothes. Although I guess I could just wear some leather armor all the time.

Definitely a sea capt'n type; like, we're gonna need a bigger boat type. Smoking using a pipe is fine, cigars are okay, but cigarettes and chewing tobacco are flat-out trashy - awful, awful, awful.
Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
If you don't have a brown vest with an American flag patch on it, you need to get one. Now.

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
I wear a carhart vest to work. Just need to get that patch!

Ordering a coonskin hat this week as well.

Mine is covered in lumps of cat fur. It doesn't look as good.

I once tried putting an orange cat around my neck... AND IT BIT MY HEAD!
Oh, and here's the crappy chronograph retrograde watch I just got and will be returning soon:

I should stick to the Mondaine:

It's one of the few watches that actually fits my wimpy, small wrist...

Calvin Klein watches are Swiss Made?
I had no idea
I had no idea
Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Switzerland, China maybe. Hahaha. They're probably made by some subsidiary of Swatch Corp. Everything else with a fashion name is made by Fossil in China, Japan, or Switzerland (I think).SuperGrafx wrote:Calvin Klein watches are Swiss Made?

Anyway, if you notice, the little minutes hand (a function of the chronograph retrograde) on the right corner is broken... it is pointing past the zero mark on the dial! Sloppy. Absolutely sloppy work! It looks great, but it's a piece of shit. Swiss Made is sometimes too liberally used the way something says "Japanese quartz" and then you pop open the back of the watch to see it was assembled in China. Fashion watches are junk watches, but there's no way I will ever be able to afford a Hublot or even one of those IWCs that fall apart if you breathe on them wrong. I really like this CK watch, though, so I'm gonna gamble on a replacement and cross my fingers it's properly aligned with the dial markings
