Looks awesome. Of course, it'd probably turn out as a pile of junk with my model building/painting skills

Really fuckin cool. Is it the kind that you paint and glue and all that? Or do you just snap some pieces together and call it a day?

That is pretty gorgeous. Would look nice next to my other R-9 figures, but if it requires any gluing and painting it's better for me to pass.

according to HLJ's page for this it does indeed require paint and glue to complete

it's a shame too, since that thing is sick as hell

I intend to eventually make a video for YouTube showing the head offices of Japanese plastic model companies: Plum, Tamiya, Bandai, Fujimi, Aoshima, Kotobukiya, Finemolds, Platz, Hasegawa, and any others I cannot think of at the moment. Living in Shizuoka Prefecture, I am within easy distance to many of these companies, with Finemolds being the only truly out-of-the-way location, being close to Nagoya.

Well so anyhow, yesterday I visited the first location, Plum, in Suwa, Nagano Pref. Two employees looked puzzled seeing a foreigner pull up in a car and approach them, but I just told them, "Boku wa PLAMO MANIA DESU." They understood, and let me take my camera out. After recording some footage of the place, I was about to leave when I happened to look in their garbage bin. I saw a ton of plamo parts being tossed away, and I saw on the runners that they were of the R9-A Arrowhead! I don't know if I could get started on the model with what I have... Maybe I can find a scan of the instruction manual somewhere? I have no idea why they threw away these perfectly good runners. Maybe the plastic is miscolored and didn't meet standards.

So, I knew this one guy in the Tokyo area who said that Plum's plastic quality is crap and they don't know what they're doing, but I think he has Plum confused with Atelier Sai and their awful Vic Viper kits. The plastic and the gates on these runners look great to me!

I could probably help you identify those parts and where they go.

Sly, do you have this kit already? I just checked out Plum's website and they have it listed as being available in September. However, both Hobby Search and Amazon JP both say that this won't be released until the end of October (Amazon says October 27th). It looks like the parts I have are to a model that hasn't yet been officially released.

The A runner looks like it is a part of the main fuselage. The incomplete B runner looks to be the side maybe, and the incomplete H runner looks to be the thrusters. So if anyone gets this kit and screws up, I at least have 7 A parts runners for those who needs spare parts.

No, I only have the Spectres kit, which I imagine is almost identical.

I'm tempted. I used to paint tabletop miniatures and if I can paint a 1" figure to my satisfaction I do not see why I would have trouble with a model kit. I could be wrong though as I've never painted a model kit that I recall.

It looks like whoever painted that painted the ball even though it seems to be pre-colored plastic. I think it looks good painted like that.

I buy a few things from E2046, always been pretty happy with the job their painters do.

Did you see this one? It is less than half the price of the other one.

Must be smaller or something.

No. They are the same size according to the site.

Thats the unpainted version. I own (the shattered remains of) one of these. Are they bootlegs? I thought these were originally a very limited run. Mine is a bootleg.
