I tried that one twice - kept crashing past a certain save. There's been an absolutely huge number of games in that series since, and many of them get good reviews too.
Oof. Every time I try to go back to modern games, I see crap like that. Broken saves, busted event triggers.. (sigh). So were there any other good PoP games for GameCube or Wii?

Once I shut this voice up in my head, I began enjoying videos games like I was a child again.

Currently (mixed with stuff I'm now playing):

Pokemon BW2
Pokemon Emerald
SMT: SJ
Fighting Fantasy
Elves and Orcs
Cave Story
Zelda: OoT

I don't have any intentions of playing anything outside of handhelds for now on.

-Gradius III & IV (L O L)

-Final Fantasy IX, X

The biggest tragedy of this list are all the beautiful Working Designs RPGs I have that I haven't beaten yet. E.G., Dragon Force, that game is amazing. Why haven't I gotten through it yet?!

Shining Wisdom, eh, not so much. I want to beat it just to say I have beaten it (and I spent $50 on it), but once that's over I'll probably sell it. Nice game, just not the best.
I used to own both Lunar games on my PS1, but having never played them, sold them aaaages ago. I might buy the PSP version one day. But that will most probably just add to my current backlog of PSP games.

I did own Magic Knight Rayearth (Saturn) at one point though. Played and completed it too before I sold it.

it's series that got progressively worse. Original reboot on Xbox/GC is still an amazing game, rest are GoW/DMC lite.

It was shocking how good The Sands of Time was. I haven't played through any of the sequels.

Sands of time is one of those truly great games. It's sequels though... eh, I can take or leave them. Once the focus shifted from platforming to strong combat it just lost it's way. The whole "We need to be mature, let's add blood and Godsmack" thing did not work for me. Kinda cost the series it's sense of wonder. Two Thrones is better, I hear, but i've not put in any time with it. Warrior Within is a pure pass though.

Reminding me I need to get the HD collection.

I've got the HD PoP Trilogy on PS3. But I'd rather classify that as being 1 title. Otherwise, I'll have bought more than 40 games in 2-3 months.

Has anyone seen the Archos GamePad? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUB-S7BwMH4&feature=plcp

Personally, I'm far more interested in the Archos GamePad than the Wii U. Also, if that is what the emulation capabilities are like on the Archos GamePad, I'm really excited for the $100 Ouya console. But considering that the Archos GamePad has HDMI output, it basically functions as a home console anyway.

EDIT: With the iPhone 5 signalling the end of Apple's vice-like grip on the smartphone market, maybe Android is the new platform to watch in the gaming arena. And in any case, the next few years will certainly be extremely interesting to see as to how the handheld market plays out (and no, I'm not interested in the 3DS or the PS Vita), with the Ouya (and similar Android consoles?) providing an interesting alternative to the ecosystem that will be provided by Microsoft (via Windows 8 ) et al.

Also, I'm much more interested in the new MS console.

Agreed. The whole "Make the same thing, but add more violence" thing seems to be a crutch, and almost never leads to good results. I also tried to play through Sands of Time, and really enjoyed the platforming\acrobatic portions of it, but utimately got frustrated by the combat portions, which didn't control very well (the fact that I played it on PC probably didn't help.)

The funny thing is that the combat in Warrior Within is MUCH better, but I can't tolerate playing it because of the stylistic changes.

Also I want, "I smoulder with generic rage." to become a catch phrase.

ITT: How big is your PoP backlog?

The SNES version of the original was by far the best of the series for me.

Oh, I loved PoP on Snes. But I'm not considering snes games as part of my backlog, otherwise I'd have to include all of the Square Rpgs which I own and which I know I'll never get round to playing.

Backlog backlog backlog -- games I intend to beat but haven't, mostly different from last time. Games on my previous list but not on this one I've given up on caring if I beat them.

! Tales of Destiny [PS1], so gooooood, reached the Aethersphere or whatever it's called and stopped for no good reason, the puzzle/dungeons up there are actually kind of neat
! Tales of the Abyss [3DS], told myself I'd keep playing it, but Black 2 has been taking all my not-fighting game time
! Final Fantasy X [PS2], doubt I will ever bother, but I told myself I would
! Chrono Trigger [SNES], really should get around to finishing, it's on my phone
! Seiken Densetsu 3 [SFC], also on my phone and brilliant, but haven't bothered to play it in ages
! Pokemon Black [DS], beat it once already, half-abandoned my second playthrough, should finish so I can bring stuff from it into Black 2 >_<
! Z.H.P. Unlosing Ranger vs Darkdeath Evilman [PSP], really good, really should finish
! Grandia 2 [DC], and mentioning this reminded me that my DC is currently collecting dust, and the clock is probably not set now because I haven't played it in weeks... >_<
! Jet Grind Radio [DC], the control and camera are putting me off going back to this even though it is otherwise a really cool game
! Tales of Innocence [DS], haven't touched this in many months, damnit
! The Red Star [PS2], it's fun but I haven't felt like playing it in forever
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Let's see what I can come up with, I guess in order I want to finish them...

! Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie (Hard) 1CC [SNES]
Recently snagged the Normal 1CC of this, feeling like Hard won't be too much harder... Loads of fun to play though, great music and graphics.

! Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie (Normal and/or Hard) Double-play 1CC [SNES]
A friend of mine who's also pretty into SNES stuff wants to play this with me, so I think I want us to get a double-play 1CC of it. Not sure which difficulties we'll go for.

! Pink Sweets Arrange (Score Attack) WR [X360]
I'm currently #2, and I feel with a bit more planning and practice I'll be able to grab the WR.

! Battle Garegga 1CC [ARC]
So so so good. I want to beat this without any save-state practice either. I feel it's within my reach if I play it enough.

! Armed Police Batrider (Advanced) 1CC [ARC]
I'll probably end up save-state practicing this one, or at least setting the game to Special mode so that I can practice stages individually.

! Maka Maka [SFC]
It's really hard to motivate myself to play this when I can't understand the story :?

! Final Fantasy III [SNES]
Final Fantasy VI yeah! I need to get a cart of this still. Anyone know if there's any difference between the US version and the JP version?

! Idea no Hi [SFC]
Same as Maka Maka, but I don't even have this yet. I'll have to order a cart before I start playing this one.

No back log for me.
Never understood why people buy buy buy games and stockpile them, only to leave them sitting unplayed.
What sense is that? Save your money in that case.
Buy only what you can play at any given time. Apart from cheap impulse purchases like Windows phone Games and the like, I never buy tons of games at once.

A lot of my "Backlog" are either games that I bought because they don't come up often and I want to play them, but didn't have the time at the moment (RE2 and RE3 for GC), or they're extra games I got as part of a lot or bigger bundle. Most of the single games I've intentionally bought, I've played.
