I want a Diablo style dungeon crawler with Onimusha 1&2 style controls and graphics. (Enjoyed the heck out of Crimson Tears, but Capcom was just the publisher.) I want another Zelda game to be made by Capcom yet again. I don't want another Devil May Cry to be made by Ninja Theory.

There are more Resident Evil 2 ports than good entries in the Resident Evil series. I don't really think another is necessary, nice as the first remake was.

That said, RE2 re-release 9 would likely be significantly less shameful than RE7 will (probably) be, especially if they use the first remake as the standard.

Capcom is not the same anymore, therefore I'm not interested in a RE2 Remake. They've lost their mojo, IMHO, and other than the graphics, the game is fine as it is to me.

No idea about RE2 (I thought the first one had a DualShock edition and it just added vibrations), but Onimusha 3 took the basics of 1&2 and added "standard" stick movement. Feels like an afterthought to me but it's optional so I can't really complain. While "3D" is no longer pre-baked (Alone in the Dark way), the mentality behind game design remains in that "2.5D land".
Weird how 3 feels less three-dimensional than the original Silent Hill, but brings more contemporary controls to the table out of a sudden. So neither here, nor there...
I need to play Soul of the Samurai one of these days properly to see what Konami really accomplished on that field.

Resi 2 doesn't need a remake. Unlike the original Resi, there isn't really much you can improve on besides the graphics. So if anything's going to happen it'll just be a digital release of an "HD" edition.

REmake was pure brilliance, exactly how a remake should be done. It's a crying shame 2 never got the same treatment.

As for people saying that Capcom don't have it anymore, well, if it turns out rubbish then just don't buy it. I'd still rather they give it a go, because you never know, it could just turn out great again.

Actually the dual shock version *does* let you do that. It's in the options. It also has auto-aim.

I just booted the US PS1 Dual Shock edition in pSX to test, and the only control-related selection I saw on the options menu was to change the config between A, B and C. All of those use the old rotational controls, not the kind where you just press the stick in the direction you want to move.

Yeah, I just checked it on my PSP too. Don't know why I thought it supported 2d controls. Must have mixed it up w/ Silent Hill 2 for some reason. Sorry for the misinformation.

REmake was actually before the HD era, as I recall. It should only be 480p.

p.s. RE2 remake was Dead Rising 2. It has that whole "STUCK IN A CITY OF ZOMBIES" atmosphere y'all wanted, so quit complaining.
