I'm having fun with Strange Journey so I decided to buy more games in the line. I know these don't all play the same but hopefully these ones are enjoyable. Guess I need to get a new PS2 at some point..
Yes yes yes yes get yourself a slim ... I see them listed on kijiji all the time, usually with some accessories and games for like $50.

I love it even more than I loved my old phat one.

$50 seems very reasonable. I'll start keeping my eye out for one in decent condition. I have Amazon Prime though so I wonder if I could find one on there that works out cheaper after free shipping.

If Slug 2 didn't run at 1/2 speed most of the time, I would agree.

Also, $50 is quite reasonable for a PS2 Slim, it's about how much I bought mine for [sans shipping].
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

I've been wanting to pick all those up as well. Where/how much did you get them at/for?

Amazon. $56 for all three brand new. I have Prime but if you don't it is probably a few bucks for shipping as well. I thought it was a good deal.

I don't think people look at Amazon for older game often but they should. You can often find sealed games for the same prices people try to get for used games on ebay. I think some people are buying sealed games on Amazon and then trying to sell them at a mark up on ebay too if I had to guess. Sometimes they have price drops too. I got Devil Survivor 2 for $20 new a couple days ago but it was only that price for a few days and is at $30 again.

Cool, that's what I kinda figured. It's odd, but I was looking at those today on Amazon before this. Yeah, it's quite absurd how little people check Amazon. Some real nice deals on there; a lot new, even.

Might have to pop on US eBay and grab some of those SMT titles.

My PS2 can't play them (softmodded PAL machine) but it's be nice to own them at least.

Yeah, now that I got a little SMT collection going with those three, DS Overclocked, DS II and Strange Journey, I am thinking about getting the Famicom and Super Famicom titles just for the hell of it.

I am depressed that I sold my copy of The Dark Spire though. I want a new copy and it seems kind of pricey now so I will just keep my eye on ebay for that.

What does the Dark Spire go for these days? I pulled one out of a bargain bin at Hastings last time I was in the States.

Not sure of the value really but the copies for sale on Amazon are $74. On ebay it looks like some sealed copies have sold for $45+, some open complete copies for $30ish and some cart only ones for a bit cheaper so I guess it is not too bad if you wait for the right auction. I would imagine that depending on condition you could get anywhere from 30-50 for a copy on ebay.

Picked up a Dreamcast arcade stick (with box!) and Guilty Gear X.
Everything is in a nice mint condition.

Now I just need to mod this baby with some proper parts 8)

Overclocking the MVS helps, I'm trying to bribe someone to look into comparing the engine code to that of Slug X which is essentially the same game.

Metal Slug X runs on the Metal Slug 3 engine, actually. I do intend to eventually take that bribe, but I'm a bit busy at the moment

I finally got sick of having to deal with cheap junky office chairs that always seem to fall apart within 6-12 months, so I decided to spring for a nice one. It's a Herman Miller Mirra, and I had one at my previous job and quite liked it. It also comes with a 12 year warranty, so with any luck it will be the last one I have to buy for quite a long time.

Some stuff I bought in the past week or so.

Some Bandai Creations Fusion Godzilla figures and a 3DS. And a non-Fusion Mothra <3.

Some games for the 3DS. Samurai Warriors was $3.72 at Kmart so I grabbed it even though I'm not sure I'll ever play it. I thought Siren would be fun but it doesn't seem so after messing with it a bit.

I also pre-ordered a couple of Wii U's at Walmart last Sunday. Hoping there is some demand so I can flip one to cover part of the cost of the one I am keeping.

Agreed. I used to own when I had a DS Lite a few years ago and had a lot of fun with it so I decided to rebuy it.

I had Rocket Slime back around the time it came out, and quite liked it, but felt it lacked much in the way of replay value. I think I came close to finishing it, but never quite did. If I recall correctly, it got a Japan only sequel, right?

The Fusion figures look pretty great imo. It doesn't come through in the pictures but they are semi transparent, or partly so in the case of Mothra, and have some glittery effects. The only ones I haven't picked up are the burning Godzilla and Millennium Godzilla. I'd like to get some of the SH Monsterarts figures but they seem a bit expensive.

Gigan and Mothra are my favorite.

I'm not sure about a sequel or not. I know they made those other DQ Monster games .Joker I think. I never played them though.

Shit, where did you get those? I've got that Rainbow Mothra hanging from my ceiling fan for a couple of years now, as well as the others around the house. Never could find the Destoroyah or the classic Mechagodzilla, though.

Ok, now that I look, it seems that the game had a Japan-only predecessor on GBA, that's probably what I was thinking of.

It seems that Kmart usually has them in stock. TRU carries them too but mine is always out of them.

I bought a J-Megadrive and Mega CD, both complete with box and accessories (although the CD unit didn't have the instructions). I haven't tested it yet, but I'm hoping there's no problem. I only paid about 9,000 yen total for these (combined)!

I drove 15 minutes to a second GS so I could get a copy that was still sealed. The guy at the second GS was mad the first guy didn't call them to make sure and told me he didn't have one but then he said one of his employees didn't pick up their preorder so he sold it to me. Whatever.

Groovy. Shall check out Kmart soon whenever I'm on that side of town! I recall buying some there a few years ago; hopefully mine still carries 'em.

How is Code of Princess, by the way? Really the only thing thus far on the 3DS that looks appealing to me.

Kmart is the best bet I think. I picked up the last two of the Fusion figures I needed for the set from there today.

I have only played about 30-45 minutes of the game so far. The combat is pretty simple right now but I haven't figured out combos or anything if there are any. As you gain levels and progress you get to allot points in to different abilities and you gain new items so I guess it probably gets more complex after a bit. The dialog is pretty goofy but it made me chuckle in a place or two.

I guess Atlus has some more games coming out for the 3DS sometime here so it should get more desirable. Etrian Odyssey 4 and some SMT games. Crimson Shroud looks interesting too and Epic Mickey looks like it plays like old school Capcom NES Disney games which would be cool if it does. Kokuga looks like it might be interesting too if it gets a US release.
