Video Game Music Quiz

Heya, I'm totally new to this site, and I just wanted to share this one video game music quiz I created a while ago for another forum.

It was supposed to be a secretly themed quiz, where the secret theme was that all the music was from shmup games, somewhat a tribute, so I thought you guys would like this quiz. There's music from 66 different shmup games, and I believe many of you will recognize many of the tracks.

lol, yeah, I took off a bit on this one, so much great music in shmups.
Did you know Windows Movie Maker have a limit of 255/256 or 127 elements or whatever? ;\
66*4=264 or 66*2=132
Can't remember the exact math anymore, but the problem was there.
And so I got some strange errors and it took me a while to figure out what it was. Ended up having to render two clips then put those two together. :p The error actually complained about not being able to find or load the file or something. So strange, it even got "disabled" in some kind of way in the program. urgh

Do you recognize any of the tracks?
Most of them are from pretty known shmups!

If there was any spoiler tag here I could post the "answers" on these forums, but I suppose there is not, but I guess I can link to the original post if anyone is interested in knowing what games the various tracks are from, or what they are called. Will put the link in the opening post.

A lot of these I don't recognize, but I imagine you picked from a wide variety of shmups whereas lately I've been playing mostly Cave games. I was surprised I recognized #16 in a few seconds (Firepower 2000, SNES Port, the airport stage), but then I had worked not long ago to finally clear it with the Heli (god it sucks compared to the Jeep).

Yup, that's right.

As said in the opening post, you can view all the answers in the link. I think, at least hope, you will recognize most of them. There's not too many very new ones, but there's lots from different time periods and consoles. Very varied to say the least, but I've tried only to pick good games.

I believe one of the sound tracks from the game you recognized was used in the Terminator movie.

Re: #16 the boss music (also used for the final stage) is lifted from The Terminator's score. It's in a future war flash-forward scene.

#5 is from my favorite shmup ever, M.U.S.H.A. . I'll edit if I notice more.

#57 is from Shikigami II, the Aja Bros fight. One of the ones before that was from Gleylancer, I think. Definitely a Touhou track before that.

I don't think there is one from Glay Lancer in this quiz, but I've used it in one of my other quizzes, more specifically the Stage 1 track. You are correct about #57, and there is a Touhou track, from Touhou 8 to be precise.

#5 is of course to correct, which I agree is a great game.

Most of the classic and great shmups are in the quiz, it's all about remembering which ones are from a game you've played. Hopefully it will send you down memory lane and at the same time enjoy lots of great sound tracks.

The two first tracks are actually some of the less known shmups in the entire quiz, hopefully you will enjoy the rest.
