Looking for intereseting videos/shows about shmups

I'm looking a documentary or a show about shmups. I know there's a French one by gameone which I've seen, but I'm looking for more.

Do you want to show somebody the ropes this way, or just want to learn more this way?
I don't think such cultural summaries about video games (that are neither nerdy nor missing the point) exist. Maybe times are bad for long studies. It would need to be episodic by nature. Look how sliced and diced any longer message must be these days to sink in. (I find it to be the most repulsive thing about modern writing by people TAUGHT to write this way at some school.)
That French film was decent for what it was, but left me with an "amateur BBC" impression (I mean it in a good way). It doesn't help that TV is pretty alien to me.

It's actually for me, although I'm pretty knowledgeable about the genre.

I don't expect to find something that is very in depth giving the audience it has, but I'd like very much to even watch something light(but not amateurish) shmups.

Not exactly a documentary but Dannys Shmup Class of 98 was pretty informative/entertaining

There was something like "20 best doujin shmups in 5 minutes" YouTube vid (I can't remember the real name, or even the exact numbers).
Perhaps some visually compelling compilation of gameplay videos with some basic text information (nothing vocal) would be watched by about everybody who stumbles upon it.

Then maybe more than "basic information", just brief and to the point. "Memorable shmup moments" or "unique shmup qualities", "non-arcade shmups", "games of very short runs"...
Somebody asked lately what does "chain dying" mean. Someone else linked to the appropriate Gradius III video moment.
I see such questions asked all the time. Sounds like a good idea for educational YouTube vids. Less "see what I did there", more attention to stuff people might care to know. I'd even overlook the smileys.

If I think about the same video, it was of the pretend TV kind (as if actual TV wasn't obnoxious enough). People can do better.
