that one is really good actually (ok,except that the pad will chew your ears sometimes). I get mine 2nd hand from Ebay ,works for me for 2 years before the left side decide to stop making sounds, and then i discovered that i like Audio Technica sound signature a lot more.Adderall wrote:cansNice! Dude if you go on Head-fi.org you can get killer Grado cans for good prices. I picked up a RS2-i for $350 shipped. The RS2-i and the RS1i aren't too much different from each other.Adderall wrote:cansNice! This is probably the best I'll ever own. Maybe someday I'll upgrade.cans
I'm actually more interested in the PS500s.
Grado can fan for life, they make music fun.

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Stopped in at Active Surplus yesterday to pick up a couple of bits:

Some 22AWG wire and a terminal strip, going to be rewiring an older joystick for my supergun & CPS2 setup.
The wire was a pretty good score actually; I was going to get two 10' lengths of 18AWG, but when I asked the guy if they had anything a bit smaller, he suggested this stuff. It's Monster Cable infrared control cable. The outside jacket isn't very tight, so it's easy to strip off. And there are two insulated 22AWG stranded wires inside. And it was only 50c / foot more than the 18AWG, so it ended up only being $2.50 for 10' of this stuff vs $4.00 for two 10' lengths of the 18AWG.
I fukkin love used games:

$9 each.

Swap Magic 3.8 with flip-lid, Street Fighter Alpha 3 (PS1), a cheapy aftermarket PS2 controller, and Ridge Racer R4 (PS1) with Ridge Racer Turbo. Oh, and an 8MB Sony PS2 Memory Card to install FreeMCBoot to.
Picture coming soon [read: tomorrow], once I clean up my room [and get all these items in one location, they are scattered around the room

Recent pickups:
GunGriffon and GunGriffon II (spine inside):

Supposedly very rare PAL release of Operation Logic Bomb, Germany/Austria/Switzerland only - this one redistributed to Benelux, which is what the second manual (in Dutch) is for:

And a new old telly (rocking a rather lacklustre Power Strike II run, but survived to 1CC thanks to it handing out extra lives for fun):

No chance for tate, but it does at least mean I can play my light gun shooters again.

Might start collecting famicom and super famicom games
That slick Namco manufactured JogCon controller can be used with the PSX game of Ridge Racer Type 4 and the PS2 based Ridge Racer 5 game as well. The reactive force-feedback mechanism is quite responsive for it's relative size and form factor (aside from the bigger and bulkier dedicated force-feedback based steering wheels with seperate gas and brake pedal setups), especially if you power-slide in the turns. I've got two of 'em myself. Sadly, Jogcon support was axed on the PS3 game of Ridge Racer 7 (but does have built-in support for the Logitech based PS3 based force-feedback steering wheels).

Sorry XSEED. I took matters into my own hands.

($~25 and $15 respectively)

I want Half Minute Hero 2, so I'll play it, language barrier be damned.

Allison Harvard is fucking hot. I want to have sex with her eyes.
That is all.
EDIT:
OH... I bought something awesome (therefore rendering the above apology irrelevant and simultaneously bringing this post back ON topic
)
I saw Rasputina play last night and bought my favorite LP of theirs at the merch booth - after the show I got Melora to sign it. Fucking awesome.
Also, here is a video I shot last night - of one of the "classical rock" songs they played as an encore, "Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd. Enjoy!

Yeah. I didn't really have the money either... But the cab hung around long enough for me to sell some stuff, scrape up some cash, and negotiate a better price with the seller.t0yrobo wrote:Seriously? That's awesome. I'm glad I didn't see that because I wouldn't have cash for it anyways.
I'm properly stoked.

Going horizontal:

(Still need to get part 3 though...
)

Well, technically I didn't buy the baby girl, and I got her almost 9 months ago, but I thought the picture would win so much with her. *g*

Loooooooooving it!!!!

But I still have to rotate the monitor back to horizontal. Fortunately, a friend is dropping by tonight, so serious slugging ensues sureley!

Thanks to Albolo for hooking me up with the MV1-FZS, the MS Kit, the MS2 (with free art and dipsheet, yay!), he even went so far to have the Parcel posted in switzerland, great service, great guy!
And thanks to RGB for the MS X, now all I need is MS3...

Oh moh, how I wish, Mars Matrix, Progear and Giga Wing are as tempting as never before... But they will have to wait some time now. First, I want to sink some time in my newly acquires treasures, the. There is always the issue of funds. Yeah, I know, I could sell the kid, but the wifey has a say in that, too.

I'm having fun with Strange Journey so I decided to buy more games in the line. I know these don't all play the same but hopefully these ones are enjoyable. Guess I need to get a new PS2 at some point..
