SFC red light blinking when connected to XRGB 2+

I just got my XRGB 2+ and tried hooking it up with my SFC via Scart. Of course I'm using a japanese 21-Pin RGB cable for this.
Unfortunately the SFC won't boot when connected to the SFC and the red light keeps blinking. When I disconnect the Super Famicom from the XRGB the SFC is working fine. With no blinking red light.

Could you guys please help me with this?

You should probably check the wiring of your JP21 cable. Is it an original Nintendo cable ? I would start by disconnecting the voltage line inside the cable which you don't need for use on the XRGB units.

I bought this cable on ebay and unfurtunately it's not an original nintendo cable. Probably I'll need to get an original one even if these are darn expensive because I have absolutel no idea how to re wire a cable or cut a certain part out of it.

Just curious: Can I use my Super Nintendo (Pal) S Video cable and use it with my Super Famicom paired up with the XRGB?

Just cut the lines except for composite vid/sync, the various ground cables, r, g, b, left and right audio.

but you can open up the scart end of the cable and post some pictures here. We can then tell you what might be wrong and taking a pair of scissors and cutting a cable or two isn't too hard!

I just tried hooking up my SFC via S-Video to the XRGB. Everything worked fine and so I got a nice image with plenty of scan lines. But the fun only lasted for the Konami logo (playing Goemon 2). After that the connection broke down and my TV (Sony HX855) displayed "Signal is not supported. Check your hardware input". Any idea what could be wrong. the display resolution is set to 640x400.

The XRGB-3 also never worked on my Sony HX905 using VGA until I added a RGB Interface in between. The Sony's VGA ports are just very picky. You can find Extron RGB interfaces on eBay starting at around 20 $/EUR.

Is there any alternative to the Extron device? Because I just can't find one on ebay right now.

Thanks again Fudoh. I'm now a proud soon to be owner of three Extron Vga to RGB interfaces.
