Man, these PC Engine controllers' cables are short as hell. I guess they were made back in the day, when kids would sit right up to the TV and mess up their eyesight.
Does anyone know if you can buy extension cables, that cause no lag?

Re: PC Engine controller extension cords?
Apparently they used a standard 8-pin mini-DIN connector, which is the same as a Mac serial cable

"But Chris", you say, "where the fuck do I get an 8-pin mini-DIN male-female cable?"

Re: PC Engine controller extension cords?
I recall going to a local computer parts store back in the early 1990s and they sold such long Mac serial cables (the perfect match for them PC Engine and Turbo Duo controller extension cables). You still can use such Turbografx-16 controllers on a Duo with such an official NEC made TG-16 to Duo controller cable adapter setup. The only other remedy is to pick up one of those slick NEC PCE wireless pad that come with a reciever unit and no messy controller cords to deal with. Simply insert four "AAA" batteries into the wireless PCE controller and you're good to go.

You can get those in black as well. I don't remember from where though. Think it cost me 10-15CAD.

Actually, no. I think the short cable is because the machine was supposed to be closer to the user rather than being closer to the TV.evil_ash_xero wrote:Man, these PC Engine controllers' cables are short as hell. Look how long the video cables are after all.

Re: PC Engine controller extension cords?
Sorry for necrobump but this guy has black cables that work if anyone needs them. Not as cheap as Monoprice but not parallel printer gray either.

And another bump...
Anyone knows where to get these cables in Europe? Monoprice cables are cheap if you are in the USA I suppose, but to have one shipped in Europe (even if ordered via their Amazon UK shop) can go beyond £30, which is ridiculous for what is likely to be old Apple and Sun third party stocks...
