Legendary Wings
Sidearms
And the rest ain't bad either:

Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting
Street Fighter II: Championship Edition
Ghosts'n Goblins
Ghouls'n Ghosts
Super Ghouls'n Ghosts
SonSon
Higemaru (Pirate themed Pengo clone)
Bionic Commando
Trojan
Final Fight
Strider

Re: Capcom Classics Collection PSP - inc 2 extra games
I'd be excited about this if Side Arms Special wasn't available for the PC Engine, and an arcade-perfect port of Strider for the PS1. Why must Capcom STILL hold out 1941, 19XX, and 1944 from us??MDY wrote:http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/show ... hp?t=38259

So, then, what's the point of even saying there should be more games in this collection?circuitface wrote:Or i could just emulate them on my PSP.
What? You know we were all thinking it.
Honestly, I pre-paid for this collection and should be picking it up soon, and I really don't give a crap that Side Arms and Strider aren't on there. Because this collection is going to save me LOTS of money, as opposed to buying all of the Capcom Generation series for my modded Saturn, and because even if you don't have any Sony hardware you can still play a 99% perfect port of Strider on the friggin' Genesis.

Let's be honest, they're milking it now aren't they? First we get a slightly re-jigged Generations on PS2 (which is even more of an insult to us Europeans, as for a change we got the best dealt and Generations was a 4-disc compilation over here anyway), then this. How many times would they like us to pay for the same game?
I wouldn't mind, but how about these assholes start putting some fucking EFFORT into these comps. and giving us some of the shit that we haven't already played?
I'll prolly buy the PS2 pack, but to then shove an extra 2 games on the PSP version is a piss take.
Fuck CapCom, Namco and Tecmo. At least Midway and Taito made some small effort.

Have you read the reviews of the PS2 one? It has some extras other than interviews!
From the IGN review:
"The coolest features of them all, however, are the ones that aren't immediately noticeable. I'm talking about the hidden gameplay extras that have been thrown in as an addition to the presentational ones. If you want to play through a hardcore version of Mercs instead of the regular quest, for instance, you can do that. If you'd prefer to stop playing the original Street Fighter II and pit characters from all three games against each other in an impromptu "version match" you can do that too. It's the little things like these that go a long way."
The IGN review can be found here:

Unfortunetly, according to the review, some of the games suffer from minor video problems with flickering, aliasing, and transpercies, but, according to the review, they still play great and are emulated very well for the most part. Those extras have me wanting to get this collection. I'm wondering if that "hardcore" version of Mercs is actually the arrange mode from the Genesis version. It would be awesome if you could play it with multiple players like the arcade version.

I'm still ticked that they won't give us 1941 but Strider and Sidearms tossed in aren't to be sneezed at. This will be a must buy for me now and a great UMD for the office.
Not yet you can't, unless you want the very poor MAME PSP to crash your system to the point you have to remove the battery to reboot it. I seriously wish someone would make a good PSP MAME though so I could play Alien vs Predator anywhere I want.circuitface wrote:Or i could just emulate them on my PSP.

Hey hey hey - nobody can knock me for emulation since i still do and always have bought games when i could. BUT - iiiiiii want - EVERY COOL GAME! ALL OF EM'!!! Every last cool game should be readily available to me at all times! BWAHAHAHAHA!
Seriously, if you think i walked by a perfect condition X-Multiply arcade and it had a 250 dollar price tag on it do you think i wouldn't buy it? I wouldn't spare a second! Sign me up, homey. Same goes for most of the games i do have emulated.
Hell, if any of yous-guys ever wanna sell me a Viper Phase 1 cab for under 600 then i'm there. Even when they do get the emulation right.

Just got the Capcom Classics Collection vol.1 for PS2. There's a trailer for the upcoming PSP CCC. My jaw dropped when I saw in action these not announced before....
1941: Counter Attack
Varth
Chariot
Last Duel
also...
Black Tiger
Magic Sword
Captain Commando
...and some others not announced (Rush'N Crash, Quiz & Dragons, Rooster, and one or two more that I cannot recognize).
Capcom better not be bluffing on this one!

Not surprised that you neglected to mention the extras that I mentioned in an earlier post in this topic with a source. Those extras aren't in generations. These are actual in game extras like an arranged mode for Mercs.Neon wrote:No tate, upscaled. Generations encrappified.CMoon wrote:Any word on how the ps2 capcom collection has turned out? Is there tate for the shmups?
It'll be nice if they put out a collection with Black Tiger, though. For something other than PSP.
