Hi all. Just a quick question. Are there any recommended English language books on shmups available? History of, list of titles, tactics etc. Just curious...

Brian Ashcraft's Arcade Mania! has a chapter dedicated to shmups, but it's a pretty shit book overall, and definitely aimed at people who are clueless about this stuff. It does have short interviews with IKD, Minoru and Clover-TAC, though.

Ashcraft later went on to write Japanese High School Girl Confidential. Yikes.
