Playing Panzer Orta on Xbox 360

Post by Nemo »

I can't figure out why this won't play on my 360, everyting is US version and not PAL. I originally bought an Arcade system, and it said I needed a HDD, so I bought one of those (120 GB) and am connected to Xbox Live, and it still won't play. Any suggestions?

What happens when you try to load it?

I've played it in my 360 with no problems. You need an update from Live, but after it updates, it works very well. If I remember correctly, there are a few graphics glitches, but nothing that hinders gameplay.

Did you buy a genuine Microsoft HDD?

Seriously, just pick up a cheap used XBox and play the older games on that; backwards compatibility on the 360 is too much of a pain to deal with if you ask me.

No joke. I'll always keep my oXbox for that very reason. Too many BC horror stories.

I connected to Live to get the most recent update, and still no go. I believe the HDD is an official one from MS. I bought it off Amazon used, but the back of it says MS, I don't know how to tell for sure. The only other thing I can think to do is try a different HDD though.

I agree except I had an Xbox and literally gave it away to someone for free because it was taking up to much room to justifiy keeping it for one game (Panzer Orta), so when Orta was supposed to work with 360s it was perfect. Of course I regret it now because I've wasted more time trying to get the game to work than I care to think about.

*tons* of bootleg HDs on the net. Non-official MS ones won't play Xbox games. That'd be my take

They fixed the issue with the game crashing.
Mine runs fine on it(JP and US), but the cinemas have problems. They kind of chug about. Really can't watch them. But the game runs fine.

I just want to point out(as I like to do), that the JP version is better.
They changed the difficulty for the US release(don't know about the EU). Easy is too easy, and Normal is too hard.
In the JP version, Normal works right. It doesn't take a million years to kill bosses, and all that junk.

I don't know why they altered it.

sounds like you bought a fake hard drive.

just buy an old fat 360 hard drive (for like 20 bucks) and crack it open. it'll slide right into a slim and work no problem. thats what I did. love me some DOOM

I have an original arcade 360, so the HDD is the older style. I do think that is the issue though.

You might need to update the Backward Compatibility. It can be downloaded from this page in either USB or CD/ISO formats. I remember when I had a 360 a few years ago I needed to get the then latest BC update in order to run PDO and not having Xbox Live to download directly to the system I got the file, popped it on a disc and installed. It worked fine after that. This was a... Core System with a 10gb harddrive.

It was the HDD after all, after getting a 20GB one from the store, it worked like a charm. Ahhh, glorious Orta in widescreen 480p! If anyone else ever runs into this situation, the only difference between the 2 HDDs is the official MS one says made in Korea as opposed to made in China on label. Whch I probably should have figured since China is the bottleg capital of the world.
