Saidaioujou isn't even out yet in japan....

asking for Mushihimesama HD makes far more sense.

as long as it isn't localized as "bug princess"

Please release Mushi HD for US 360!

Post by Arcatech »

Just wanted to chime in about releasing Mushi for US or pal if its compatible with US 360.

One of those people that didn't buy a japanese 360. Already own a US system and find it ridiculous that Mushi and others were region locked.

I would buy it day one if it was released.

Oh and btw thanks for releasing DDP resurrection. You guys did a nice job on the port.

I think it's safe to say that most of us would buy cave releases that never made it over here (even if they were a little older). For instance, I would also definitely buy Ketsui.

I already have a JP Xbox...but thanks for bringing all these cool games to the west.

If you could somehow wrangle a DoDonPachi DOJ/Ketsui pack for the west, I would consider you guys gods.

Bringing out Akai Katana was a god send.

I just want to thank you for the great port and I picked up the game on Day 1 although I have the Japanese version.

Nice to be able to read the menus!
A Hardcore gamers reaction to the Lack of Kinect games. Apparently i could of played Dodonpachi with it if i beat a entirely in Japanese Visual Novel piece of shit game called Instant Brain

Instant Brain would be a massive translation project, which they don't have the resources to handle. Microsoft would never approve a visual novel outside Japan, anyway.

You guys should seriously, seriously look into getting the PAL 360 version of UDHD certified as dual-region. You're going to miss out on a majority of your US sales otherwise, since most people who wanted the JPN PS3 version just imported it. Doesn't affect me, but I want to see you succeed.

Also, I'm curious if the lack of a 360 release here was due to Microsoft's minimum print run restrictions and hefty licensing fees in the US. That is some corporate bullshit right there, designed specifically to weed out the bothersome little guys in favor of endless "triple-A" Calladooties.

That's the branding that Cave's settled on for Mushi in Western regions, so they would most likely mandate it across all platforms.

I should have clarified that I'm dealing with your US office. Not sure if you can help with that, then.

For what it's worth, though, the disc has loading problems and sometimes freezes up the Xbox on a black screen. I was unable to get in touch with anyone through your US website, so I just mailed it in to the address in the manual (21515 Hawthorne Blvd, Suite 200, Torrance, CA, 90503).

Shit, you had a manufacturing defect on your Akai Katana disc that prevented it from playing? I've never heard of that happening with sealed 360 games.

I'm getting the localized PS3 version regardless but I would also purchase the Xbox 360 (NTSC-U accessible) version to increase my play (practice) opportunities as I usually have access to an Xbox 360 while I'm away from the PS3. While its great that UDHD finally brought another STG to the PS3, fans of that genre will more likely have an Xbox 360 than a PS3. So really the dual-region Xbox 360 approach is the best way to satisfy the NA market that may not be large enough to warrant a minimum (yet relatively large) MS US print run.

When G.rev originally released UDHD they recommended Solaris Japan for international orders. If dual-region for UDHD Deluxe (Xbox 360) becomes a reality, a recommendation for reputable vendors that are willing to ship internationally would be appreciated.

My recommendation is Zavvi. They did a great job shipping my PAL copy of DDP Resurrection to the US, in a sturdy cardboard envelope.

How can anyone be interested in Under Defeat. That game looks like total bullshit - super boring crappy gameplay and horrible 3d graphics. :\

I enjoyed Under Defeat when I sampled it at Kiken's house. I had just played Akai Katana before it and I loved the straightforward nature of Under Defeat in comparison.

Either elaborate on why you think this, or kindly shut up.
and horrible 3d graphics.
Only the best graphics ever pulled off on the Naomi hardware, man. (Though Ikaruga wins in the artistic department.)

Ikaruga though ends up having somewhat a lack of variety in the aesthetic dept- the color-scheme sort of makes everything look a bit dull. The only memorable enemies in Ikaruga are some of the larger ships, and the Stage 1, 2, and 5 bosses. Oh, and those boxes, I guess : p

Under Defeat has a bit too much brown-n-gray (though I suppose that is its gritty style), but I like the variety of things you fight in that game more than Ikaruga (Boss 3: Wheel. Boss 4: Another wheel).
UD is a beautiful looking game though. Great models and great particle effects.

Speaking of gameplay, I do like its straight-forward nature, with no overly complex scoring mechanics (the shoot-crates-with-options-for-higher-score is kind of laughable though), and some great levels, and great bosses (the fortress boss especially!). G.Rev bosses in my opinion are always excellent.

Of course this is all off-topic... But I can definitely parrot this:

Hi Samuel, welcome to Shmups.System 11,

p.s: You are super cool with your kind replies to people ^^, good luck for the future ;)

I've had that happen to me with Halo 3. Brand new copy, opened the shrink-wrap and put it in and the disc wouldn't read. Another reason to not keep your games sealed.

Mushihimesama Bug Panic was actually called "Mushihimesama" here though.

I hope you guys are planning on localizing Kokuga since you're already working with G.rev on Under Defeat.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

I have to agree. I have only played my DC version a few times but i loved it! I will Defenetly get this. Glad I held off on importing it (however I would still buy just to support RSG). If the EU one is region free ill buy both!!

What you guys are doing is awesome.
That said, the Under Defeat cover art is so bad, there's no way I'd ever buy it.
And I'm a user on the SHMUPS FORUM.
Why did you guys decide to go with that art?!

So you wont buy a game due to the cover art? I am not one to judge but that is the second stupidest thing I ever heard! The first is people who wont buy XBOX360 games because the achievements are hard!

Yes, I won't buy a game because of the cover art. Sometimes I don't buy digital games on XBLA because of their icons.
Bad art is bad art, and bad art is offensive to me. There's such an overabundance of media to consume and games to play in this world, I can afford to pick and choose according to my tastes.
