For me, I love Kawai Kenji's music score for Kyuuketsuki Miyu. It was one of the first anime OSTs I owned, one of the first CDs I owned, and an album I still listen to this day (that's almost 20 years). He also did the "Ghost In The Shell" music score. He's got some kind of New Age sound going 8)

yes it looks proper goods from what I've checked

watched some more Nadesico - I really really like it - everytime you think its straightforward lulz you realise that there is more underneath too.

is Round Vernian Vifam any good?

Finished watching series one of Yamato last night. While its clear things got pinched towards the end (last two espsodes are ridiculously packed) its definitely a series which outshines its flaws. Just fantastic stuff.

Now what? Downloaded the Persona 4 animated series which was a big mistake. Quite tempted by Ergo Proxy, but I've also got the whole of Gundam Wing on the back boiler :D

yeah it is truly brilliant - the Captain staring at the photo - such a stoic man crying - pure epic

I would recommend Farewell To Yamato and watching it soon after for ultimate emotional impact :o

I watched it the next day after finishing the first season and it was REALLY intense (then again I'm a big softy haah)

Another thing I really liked about the season was how towards the end they went back to the totally unaccompanied version of the intro to the song for awesomeness

starting to watch Crusher Joe - I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it already - that classic original Battlestar Galactica style soaring late 70's string sound - Love it :D

haha disco scene is amazing - really well animated too...

Please do! Yeah, the cameo is their appearances as they are in the original light novels. Yuri is essentially the same, but with black hair, and Kei kinda has this red mini fro thing going on.

I definitely will, and actually I've just realised I've never made any Dirty Pair ones either, so Imma make a bunch of them too :)

RU RU RU RUSHEE AN!

yeah at the drive in hahaha

and actually the cat thing is kinda normal sized too :o

Bloody Card! haha - the animation is really IMO so brilliant in this - the amount of detail and little touches, like how some kinda flying manta ray type thing flies in front of the cinema screen, so you can see it's shadow and it reminds you that you're not looking at a TV screen, and makes you look at the setting of the screen etc. again

the first person flying/driving scenes are amazing too

Brace for impact, we are just 1 week away from the new anime season.

I'm sure Little Busters will be the hit of this season.
The animated version of Junya Inoue's BTOOOM! looks meh.

Hidamari Sketch and Jormungand 2nd season are the only things I'm waiting for.

A rip of the full Honneamise OST is on youtube:

I can't find the playlist version, so please have fun with these links.

The Phantom Blood arc of JoJo gets a TV adaptation this October? Count me in. No denying that it looks pretty cheap, though.

I guess it's too much to ask for Marco D'Ambrosio back for soundtrack duties.

A BD/DVD release of the movie would be better than that.
Nerduto, Blitch and Wan Piss are dead, time for the manliest and more bizarre shonen manga to be animated.

I'm enjoying Wangan Midnight right now.

on episode 11 of Martian Successor Nadesico - have loved every episode so far...

I don't exactly love the chara design, but the sheer brilliance of the mechanical art in it more than makes up for that.

are any of Bubblegum Crisis's artists involved, because the Aestivalis are really similar to this:

(and haha yes it's the same one I said Eva 01 looked a bit like, but this time it REALLY is similar)

Copy/past from the movie thread since I'm lazy:

They Were Eleven - Interesting 80s science fiction mystery aboard a large derelict vessel arranged as a test for ten students. An eleventh member enters the ship along with the other students, creating tension and paranoia among the group. A pleasing score, creative alien races and solid animation. By the same director of Mad Bull 34 ;).

That Phantom Blood adaptation certainly looks kinda...meh. I'd love to see them actually adapt one of the earlier arcs and do it justice. Actually, it's probably best to just leave them alone at this point; there are so many newer arcs that could be adapted, anyway.

They Were Eleven is gorgeous, Satoshi Dezaki is great director. I can recommend Grey:Digital Target and Big Wars: Kami Utsu Akaki Kouya ni, also directed by him.

watching Crusher Joe OVA (Ice Prison) - I do like so far, but I think I prefer the more lighthearted feel of the movie overall.

I'm watching master keaton and escaflowne. hmmmm, keaton is pretty good so far, nowhere near as good as MONSTER but it's sorta like a cross between mushi-shi and kino's journey.
