Hello from Rising Star Games!

Post by RSG_Spoonparty »

Hey guys,

My names Samuel and I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I've just joined Rising Star Games, publisher of various shmups, and my role with them is about involving you guys with the company and our future and bringing out more content. And where's a better place to get in contact with the shmups peeps than here?! The forum you have is awesome and its really helped me develop my skills. I'm no veteran to the genre but I'm loving what I've played so far and already trying to best myself.

Anyway I didn't want to make a massive post, just here to say hey! And also to tell you we are going to be making some video content on Under Defeat HD Deluxe Edition sooooooon. I'm on twitter @RSG_Spoonparty so follow me if you want to be the first getting the latest information on these titles. Feel free to ask questions and make suggestions!

Thanks for the post. I hope that there's some chance of RSG bringing over Mushi HD and/or the upcoming SDOJ port eventually. Looking forward to the UD HD release. :)

Hi, you guys are awesome for bringing these games to the West. If I didn't have an NTSC-J console already, I would buy all your releases instead.

I have a Japan console and I bought all of your cave shmups in PAL as well! Please release as many shmups as possible. They're the only games I play and have been for three years now.

Having said that I think you should concentrate on proper shmups, none of this under defeat rotating shot axis nonsense, and definitely no twin stick ' shooters '. Oh, and no health bars - under any circumstances. And make sure they all work on 4:3 CRT's. And make sure they're all proper arcade games, none of this RPG -lite elements bullshit. And not to much random elements like. Sine. Mora abomination. And if you must include cut scenes, make them suitable. Strike that - no cut scenes under any circumstances. Make sure all buttons can be re- mapped ( essential). Did I say no twin stick bullshit under any circumstances. Oh, and English voices would have been nice in akai katana, still don't know what the hell those bitches were moaning about.

You know that Rising Star has absolutely zilch to do with shmup development, right Bobby?

Anyway, welcome to the community, Spoonparty. I look forward to hearing whether you are able to secure a 360 release for UDHD in the States, as well as any future shmup localizations (DDP SDOJ? Kokuga? Mushi HD?)

Publish any great games you like and don't pay any attention to idiots like Bobby there who don't understand the difference between a publisher and a developer. ;)

Thanks for the shmup releases so far, RSG. They have been great and much needed in PAL-Land :)

Now that G_Rev appear to have found a publisher, is Border Down HD a possibility? Would RSG be interested in putting that out? Also, Raiden Fighters Aces.

I'm saying if ur going to publish a foreign game make sure its up to spec and doesn't have any of those shite elements. And don't go for some turd like under defeat.

If I could request only one game, it'd have to be Mushihimesama HD.

Thanks for bringing such great games to the western market. I'll continue to buy every one that I can play in the US. Cheers!

It's great to see a[nother?] representative of RSG here - it always makes me feel pretty happy when a company actively participates in (meaningful) user feedback, much like Genki Patton of Nyu Media.

If Under Defeat HD were to get a region-free release, that would definitely be sweet! I've played the game on the Dreamcast and a chance to play the game (and New Order) on an American TV is definitely an enticing prospect. Though I'm not pressuring or anything : D

Other folks here want more cave games, so you can always bet on the pro-Cave sentiment around here. Thanks for stopping by and saying hello!

I'd buy one too. Would even consider buying half a dozen if it gets the game here. Losing that game was one negative about selling my J360. But I'm getting the Wii version so life goes on.
