NYC shmupmeet - October 12 - Tomorrow! (menu added)

Hey everyone,

I'll be having a shmupmeet on October 12. I have 3 cabs and lots of consoles, etc. We'll probably start around 7 (although you're welcome to come earlier if you like), and there will be lots of food! There will also be some non-shmupers present, mostly consisting of musicians, artists, and other creative types. There is plenty of room for everyone, so don't be shy!

I live in Washington Heights, in the 160's. Shoot me a pm if you're coming and I'll give you directions.

Hope to see some of you guys there!

Sorry I haven't responded to this for a while. I've been a bit under the weather lately.

At any rate, Ibara and Ketsui would be awesome! I think I'm going to shoot for early to mid November. I'll also post an invite on my YouTube channel to see if any YouTubers want to come check out some shmupping.

Hey everyone. Just checking to see if there is still interest in this meetup. Travel in the NY/NJ area is still a bit difficult, so I'm not sure if people can even make it here. It might be better to postpone for a month or two until the region recovers. That being said, I'm still open to doing it Saturday if you guys want. Let me know, and I hope all of you came through the storm okay!

I can't make it this Saturday, the next 3 or 4 Saturdays are booked, which sucks because I was looking foward to this.

Given the power outages and travel issues from the snowstorm, I think it's probably best to postpone this meet. I'll get back to you guys about possible dates, but it will probably have to wait until the new year. Definitely a bummer, but we will make this happen eventually!

Thanks! Yeah, I've been really happy with some of my purchases as of late, although I'm also about to slim down my console collection since I don't spend as much time with them anymore.

I'm on the border of Washington Heights and Harlem, so we were really lucky and didn't get any damage from the storm. I have a lot of friends in Jersey who just got power back this week and had a rough time.

The general plan is to reschedule for sometime in January, which is (hopefully) a little less hectic for most people. I'm open for suggestions on the date, so let me know!

Yes! Sorry to all the previous posters, I haven't checked this thread in forever. My comprehensive exams are coming up in the last 2 weeks of August and the orals are a week or two after that, so how about September 21? I'll update the OP since my collection has grown a bit since last year. Let me know and we'll make this happen!

Hey chempop, sorry about the late response. My comprehensive exams end on August 28, and the orals are supposed to be a week or two after that, so I'm trying to keep some time clear. I tried to get a more precise date from the department, but they don't want to be pinned down to anything. At any rate, would the 14th be any better? I'm assuming I'll be out of the woods by then. Let me know (this goes for anyone who might be interested). I'm actually getting excited about this, as not a single one of my friends is even mildly interested in shmups.

Ok, so September turns out to be pretty bad for me, so I'm going to go with October 12. Let me know what you guys think, and if there are no major issues, this will be the date!
