So I decided to crack open my TV and tackle the geometry problems that had been bothering me for quite some time now. After about 30 minutes I had it looking pretty great in yoko mode. Played a couple of hori games and made up my mind that I was satisfied with the image. As soon as I put it in TATE mode to see how it would look the geometry went all out of alignment again.
So onto my question. Is there any way to solidify the adjustments you make to be able to TATE without totally throwing the geometry off?
PVM - 2030 Geometry issues
Re: PVM - 2030 Geometry issues
You turned it off and left it for about 10 mins before rotating when its off before turning on again?
If so, unfortunately, this may simply be a result of physical alignments sagging or shifting.
What happens with the geometry when tated?

Nope, As soon as I got it adjusted I put the rear casing back on and flipped it on its side.gray117 wrote:You turned it off and left it for about 10 mins before rotating when its off before turning on again?
The horizontal positioning and size got smaller and displaced. The veritcal size messed up as well and the picture bow changed from what I had set it to.gray117 wrote: What happens with the geometry when tated?

Yeah, you're going to get some of that regardless, no matter what you try to do. Though you should experience less issues if you leave the display powered off for a little bit before rotating it.

I adjusted everything again and left if off for around 30 minutes. After I TATE'd it its ok, not the same but ok. What causes the geometry to come out of alignment? Magnetic field issue?
Re: PVM - 2030 Geometry issues
Basically. Magnetism is a hell of a force and your geometry corrections are basically just compensation for it. Change the value of natural magnetic pull and those go out of whack. Though not nearly as bad as when they actually experience the turn.
