I like what I'm seeing so far. Having an option to turn off the dialog stuff is a must though.

I'm not an expert with the Unreal Engine but is it possible to have graphics options to say, improve framerates by cutting out the glow or texture quality? It looks like it could be quite taxing.

Yeah, great suggestion. I actually like subtitles in case I have sound off or lower when playing, but ideally the best way to make all parties happy consists of:
- music volume
- sfx volume
- voice volume
- subtitle option [on/off]

I actually implemented all of the above (except the subtitle option which will be in later) in GMOSSE MK-VI for this same purpose. A simple percentage or bar of some sort for the individual volume controls would work just fine.

Not bad. Few questions though I doubt they'll be heard now:
- what the fuck's with having two missile launchers? Double deployment at cost of double ammo consumption or something?
- if it's not mouse-controlled anymore, how IS it controlled? Button + keyboard maneouvrement?
- why the large choice of weapons anyway? It's good to have variety but I'm seeing a melee blade thing with buggerall range, and a flamethrower with buggerall range, which seem a bit redundant to me. Maybe I'm just not getting the whole weapon limiting/choice stuff that Einhander has.

So the missiles are WIPs and the "similar" weapons actually are different for directional use and agility. I feel better now. :)

I don't think this would fare so well in Shmups Chat, yes it will get more hits but also the wankers who'll ruin everything. Whatever the mods decide I suppose (does any of the mods really keep eye on Development?).

BPze encouraged me to check out the Dev forum, and I saw this. No, I don't expect a response.

From the rant against "bullet hells" on the FAQ:

What the fuck does this even mean? Are you trying to say that the "old-school" classics like Galaga, Gradius, R-Type, Raiden do NOT emphasize bullet dodging? What did you think those little pixels constantly flying at you were, tomatoes? Oh, I get it, you mean that you're trying to make a Euroshmup. Fine then, wallow in mediocrity if you really want.

Also, why would you ever want to use the Unreal engine for, well, anything? Hell, I'd rather play a shmup made in Source.

Seriously, you've got a point. No idea about using Unreal - I reckon it's more for the graphics than anything. As for the FAQ mention either it's as outdated as their posts on this forum, or it means to say it's more about being manic than being "omg dodge the 1x1 pixel hitboxes" Cave stuff. If I actually remembered my Twitter account details I'd just message the guy myself.

It is most likely going to be like Einhander as far as bullets go, that seems to be their main inspiration, not sure what other shmups they play or like tbh.

Maybe they're going for a more traditional shmup instead of another bullet hell 'em up?
