Arcade Stick sticks on one side

Hi All,

One of my arcade sticks is a bit sluggish when pushing to one side (it's like it sticks a bit). Is there any method to fixing this? Or is my best bet to simply replace the stick?

You can probably take it apart, clean it, apply new lube and it should be good to go. I think.

Yeah, what trap said. Sticks are designed to take quite some abuse.

Pro-Tip: have a guide ready and take pica of the stick when you dissassemble it, preferably male a pic of every step you take. It helps reassembling the stick afterwards.

Thanks for the tips. What kind of lube is recommended? Any specific brands?

Go to your local hardware store and ask for silicone grease. It will be in the plumbing section in a little plastic tub. It has a vaseline-like consistancy and works great on joysticks.
