So since we're all kind of coming out here, I think I should too. http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... 45#p823945 is fake. I could list the reasons as to why I did this, but I don't think it would change the fact that it's still fake.
This is disrespectful to the competitors that have worked hard for their scores. I truly apologize for this falsification, both to the community and my team. I will not be participating in future STGTs.

I had fun with it except for V-V and Salamander 2, honestly.
It sucks that some people had to be dicks just to prove some kind of point (cheaters, over-zealous anti-cheaters, falsificare brigade, whatever), but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the games. I really enjoyed Strikers, it was fun to get back to Galuda even if I got super-terrible at it, and even though I only put a few hours into SSS, I still enjoyed it. I'm getting really annoyed with our little community lately. We've always had our fair share of shitposting and assholes, but it's become insanely out of hand. We're a bunch of gamers in a very niche genre and instead of banding together to bring people into our fold or help each other out, we've got people who have to go out of their way to be complete fucking tools and it gives the rest of the members a bad name. I hate it. I've been here for a while now, and I still hesitate to post sometimes because I don't feel like having certain people talk shit about what I have to say. I don't think we need to ban people, and I don't think we need to go overboard with verification on scores; I DO think some people here need to grow up. We're a mostly-adult community, and we have members that act like trolling 13-year-olds... and not just occasionally to be funny or whatever, but all the fucking time. It sucks.
Now quit being dicks and go play Gradius III.

I did. I asked E.E. for help after 5 hours spread over 2 days trying to figure it out. As a result of some score pruning from these and other certain individuals (you know who you are), the scoreboard looks a little different than it did before. In particular, JESC dropped to place 23. That's the quickest drop I've seen running these!

I made top three for my team's submissions this week!
...but there were only three submissions from us this week! 
Even so, we hit pretty far above our weight for a team. If the teams were ranked based on just this week, we'd be right behind Team Sweet Tacos at #7, ahead of Casino Royale. Congrats to Team Dave Destroy also for hitting way above their weight this week.
Surprises: Team Procrastination couldn't get the game working in time this week, and Stay Away stayed true to their name.

Other than the odd emulation issues I had with SSS and Salamander 2, this STGT was fun. Thanks for doing it, Dex.
First and foremost, my apologies for not being around as much this year compared to previous years. Real life (IT DOES EXIST! DON'T BELIEVE THE LIES!) kept stepping in, leaving me not as much time as I would have liked to play and help until the final game. At least I was able to find super plays for most of the games to share with my teammates so that they weren't left completely on their own. So yeah, sorry about that, and I'll do my damnedest to step it up next year.
Regarding teammates, I have to say kudos to Herr and ED for once again being the reliable workhorses of the team. They came in each week and submitted good scores, which proved to be a very good thing this year. While I knew Shocky was going to be gone for vacation after the second week (thanks for playing the first two weeks before you split), I'm rather puzzled/disappointed with raigon50 and tinotormed. The former just up and utterly vanished, and the latter showed up for one week (good score that week btw), then posted scores for other shmups on the few occasions he came to the site (which is surprising, given how much he played last year). Frankly, if it hadn't been for Herr and ED, three of the five weeks wouldn't have had the needed three scores for our team. Perhaps there were legit reasons for one third of our team to vanish like that, and if there were, then no hard feelings. But hell, you guys could have at least let us know you were quitting due to disinterest, lack of time, or something.
Despite all this, we still finished 8th, and bested our old rivals in Pele Shooting Team. So again, mad props to Herr and ED for keeping our team in the running (buy yourselves a pint on me), and I guess we'll see you again next game... er, year.
