For those of you still playing DSMBL, I found this Bloody Jitterbug run on the Japanese leaderboards using CASPER  Nice to see a Bloody Jitterbug run that is not with Sakura or in MBL1.1

I uploaded it here:

Note the player, TNK, is in Arcade mode and not 360.

That is very awesome, and that guy makes Casper look so easy to use too :|

Nice playing! Gotta love those proto-Psikyos. :)

That's one of the best replays for Aero Fighters 2 I've seen yet. There are close to no good replays and no 2-ALL anywhere on the net (as far as I could find). Keep it up!

AF2 was made after Shin Nakamura had already left Video System and founded Psikyo.

Sick run for sure. A shame, although understandable, that he cheeses pigeon blood so totally

Yup. As much as I love AF2 and AF3, in terms of consistency they were right downhill. More visually appealing, but super obscure things can sink or make a run. The games seem like poor choices for scoring play - especially if you find yourself at the powerups bonus stage instead of the tanks.

Why don't you just use the aviwrite option in MAME?

I did try it but I estimated that that run would have taken about 3-4 hours to record on my comp. Sorry, I have no excuse :V

I'm a bit out of the loop here but don't MAME's -aviwrite videos end up with a filesize of something shocking + native pixel aspect ratio that you have to compensate for anyway?

Thanks! :)

I should have at least made it to 2-2 going into the loop with 3 lives but I'm pretty happy with how the first loop went.

Yeah, that too. Handbrake helps but It takes quite a bit of time to process and I'd rather hand the work off to lackeys anyways ;)

I love how you lost your last life

Very nice run. I played this game to death when I was a kid, but back then I didn't know how to play shmups so all I did was credit-feeding. Good to see a 1cc for once.

So the dolphin is the best ship to use?

Ha ha, I didn't kill myself on purpose at the end. In the first loop that lazer doesn't hurt you, I forgot that it kills you in the second loop.
Ruldra wrote:So the dolphin is the best ship to use?
Playing with manual fire he's the only viable option imo, the rest of them are too weak. I think most autofire players use the ninja though, because of his heat seeking bullets.
Illyrian wrote:Oh god I'm getting this game. :)
I haven't played Sonic Wings Limited but of the first 3 and Special this one is the best I reckon. I'd put them in order of preference: 2>1>3>Special.

Blue Wish Resurrection Hell ALL! replay by me. Annotated for your reading pleasure.

Done with a ship other than Blue Peace, which adds variety from any other Hell ALL!s you might have seen.

Why thank ya. That clear took quite a bit of practice to pull off. But now I feel like I can move on to even more challenging games.

Perhaps something from Cave.

Ketsui 1-ALL with Panzer Jager

Featuring NMNB through stages 1, 2 and 3, NM through stage 4, and an absolutely ridiculous stage 5. By ridiculous, I mean several crap deaths and several absurd luck dodges that I seriously cannot believe happened.

Not as hard as my BWR clear, but eh. Was fun to do. Also my score wasn't completely shit.

EDIT: Link changed to a new upload because Youtube fucked the previous one up. If it's not processed yet, it will be soon.

Green Wind Hell ALL!

I'm not sure if this is the first western clear of this game, but it's certainly the only video of it on Youtube.

It was x.x's first game (he went on to make Blue Wish Resurrection and Eden's Aegis, in case anyone doesn't know that), and it kinda looks like it. The fact that I have the only clear on Youtube is probably better evidence of how few people like/played it than of any real skill on my part. Although getting that clear did take quite a bit of practice.

Me playing Pink Sweets 1.01, for anybody that's interested in some Kasumi play:
marus-MPO - 8,813,330 - Stage 6 - Kasumi(A)

I missed the fixed extend in Stage 3, then had some ridiculous deaths at the midboss, but aside from that this was a pretty good and fun run. I still obviously have a lot of work to do in stage 6 though.
