Heh, I'm pretty sure I'd heard that one someplace else...though I do like to think that I was the first one to dub the guy on the Phalanx box "Pharmer Bob". There is no prouder distinction.

Guardian Force is a pretty awesome game aside from having too many weapons to cycle through. (Like it even more than the Cotton series) I just wish I knew why it's so fucking dark on my TV. I have the same problem with Sonic Wings Special where I can't see the background at all.

Dave_K. wrote:Very likely the polar response to this game is because of the controls. Playing the Saturn version on a pad is going to feel a lot different than arcade stick and buttons. Once I got the STV cart, everything clicked with the controls, and I now find it really solid.
Switched to a 3D pad as I use triggers to rotate and the Holy Saturn Pad's triggers are not very fun to use. Feels comfier, but bigger telly placed closer to my eyes made a more substantial difference. Performed some pretty crazy dodging in Training Stage already. Some fairly fast bullets for a "vertizontal" shmup, but nothing weedy about the controls.
I say if you have a problem with the collision detection, just... draw near or get a bigger monitor.
Shame the countdown can't be sped up.

P.S. Nowadays I play using: B for fire, A - turn left, C - turn right, Y - bomb.
