Lovely.

Is it just me, or is the level 2 music a reworking of Castlevania's "Vampire Killer"?

The videos are a couple of months old and from the arcade version (and have been linked to here before.)

OK good. I wonder how I missed that the first time though since I'll usually jump on replay videos as soon as I see them.

Unless it's two people playing, how the heck do you control 2 ships at once?? I've heard of this being done in shmups before, but never how it's done.

With two hands...?

This video probably illustrates it more than anyone could describe it to you.

Much easier to do double plays with a set of arcade sticks, except in the case of Raiden III for PS2 which allows double play using a single controller.

I started doing double plays with sticks also, and this also motivated me to construct my 2-player stick as a single unit instead of two separate units..

Give it a try dave, it puts an interesting new challenge on any game once you learn to control the planes to a reasonable degree :) And it looks cool to do it in an arcade.

edit: I mean double play with a single controller

The ending brings back so many memories.
And it seems they actually made Double Play an official thing in the game now?

I definately will have to give it a try after I get a J-PSTwo; thanks! :D

BTW, does anyone know if Raiden III loops, like the other games in the series? VERY nice ending, in any case! :D
