If so many people bitch about the game, I'm sure I'll have fun. If not by playing, then by joining the bitching.

There's going to be a lot of no-shows again this week due to salty tears shorting out computers.

Continue my 4 week roll of not playing shit.
I am glad everyone is unhappy to play games
We need a iOS/mobile week so I can play.

I wouldn't mind Galuda getting picked if it wasn't a ton of people who put less time per week into STGT than I put per day into commuting deciding on a game that demands retarded amounts of optimization to get anywhere.

This. People on a shmup forum are complaining about having to play Espgaluda. Why am I not surprised... How about some actual discussion? Perhaps related to how mid-level players can hurdle past the 30mil mark?BPzeBanshee wrote:emphatic wrote:AntiFritz wrote:Man I think this thread has convinced me that not participating in stgt was a good choice after all.

Lol, dude can beat Pink Sweets and Garegga, so clearly has more skills than most here. I don't understand what his daily commute time has to do with doing well in galuda. I guess I might need a morning smoke after all...Chirpy13 wrote:Looked pretty clear the first time to me.chempop wrote:Am I the only one who had to read this 3 times to know wtf he was trying to say?!

Well, he hasn't beaten Pink Sweets(1.00 at least) yet.
But yeah anyone who can beat 1.00 without infinite lives is pretty good, and he definitely will someday.

The only thing this game's making me want to do is to say screw it and go play Galuda II instead.

Re: STGT'12 Week 4 Voting: Cave Week
Because somewhere in the back of your mind you realize that it's an awful choice and understand why nobody with the slightest intention of actually making an effort this week would want to invest time in it.chempop wrote:This. Yes, but considering your previous posts it hardly surprises me that you'd struggle with reading comprehension. It's easy to talk shit on people taking issue with a bad decision when you have no stake in it whatsoever, isn't it? Show me a single player posting half decent scores that isn't pissed off about this decision (sikraiken nonwithstanding), the only people defending galuda are people that won't be putting any effort into learning it or, in cases such as your own, playing at all.chempop wrote:Am I the only one who had to read this 3 times to know wtf he was trying to say?!
You know I always used to be like "man I dunno why you guys hate on the farm as much as you do it doesn't seem THAT bad" but it becomes clearer and clearer.

How do you know that a lot of ESPgaluda people dont put an effort in the STGT?Deca wrote: the only people defending galuda are people that won't be putting any effort into learning it or, in cases such as your own, playing at all.
The higher-tier players only make up a small minority of all participants, and if you can't stand that the vast majority vote on other games(that are considered to be among the 6th best shmups of all time), then maybe the few of you should arrange a different tournament that has some screening critiera.
Intentionally poor writing, but still poor.I wouldn't mind Galuda getting picked if it wasn't a ton of people who put less time per week into STGT than I put per day into commuting deciding on a game that demands retarded amounts of optimization to get anywhere.
Maybe some of us should ask the question "is it worth the time/effort" more often, because it seems some people here are spending a lot of time with this hobby but all they do is complaining. Or maybe that's where the fun is?

From the perspective of a mediocre player, the loop requirements for ketsui would kill my fun, moreso than the perfect bonus for V-V, due to the much higher difficulty.
Dimahoo is a fun game.

Majority of the players in this tournament will enjoy playing Espgaluda this week more than they would have enjoyed playing Ketsui or DOJ. You pros can go play serious time sinks outside of the tournament.

I would honestly have loved more to see him go up against people like MrMonkeyMan and x91 at Ketsui. Battle of the Titans!Deca wrote:"because he knows he can't beat TiH at doj or ketsui."
But instead we get boring-ass Galuda. What a complete waste.

Re: STGT'12 Week 4 Voting: Cave Week
I believe one or two hours of a game a day hardly is playing it for a tournament. There are people who put tens of hours of effort into this every day, you know.
The people who actually play, instead of just watching some other people play.
And those people certainly don't like games where you have to learn bullshit optimal play within a week. Would you like PCB normal 2b-tier to be learned in a week? No. Fuck no, you would not.
-
I'm rather disappointed and angry, sikraiken. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm also quite ill at the moment, but your actions also have something to do with it.
Maybe my exeptations were a bit high since I had followed the Touhou superplayer community, who were mainly great people. But it was certainly not fright, tricks and awry attitude what I had waited from the current time STGT champion.
-
In the end it won't matter. You will have your 1st spot, congratiulations. In this forums eyes you might become the greatest person of 2012, but in my eyes, and many more eyes, you are a puny jerk who found overall winning more important than having fun and competiting around.
Most of the people won't play, or play a little. Minority of good players play a lot. Several people will have hard time, there will be blood and tears.
And you will win.
With loads of sadness and sorrow, you will win.
Is it really worth that? I have never really won anything so I don't know. But if winning drives people into persons like that, I may as well never want to win.

I'm not unbeatable, and I've never claimed to be great. Keep the tears flowing, please.

Two hours a day is a lot if you also have to work, if you commute, and have chores to do. This is a hobby after all.Seppo Hovi wrote:I believe one or two hours of a game a day hardly is playing it for a tournament. There are people who put tens of hours of effort into this every day, you know.
