Ugh, I'm hitting a scoring wall at 2-3. I keep arriving there with only one or two lives to spare, never quite reaching 1.1 mil.

Destroy the first two large ships by only hitting the main body. Damaging the fins or engines of those will prevent the gold ship spawning.Despatche wrote:I don't think I can play this anymore. Also, I have no idea how to get that gold ship.

Finally killed the Brain Golem on the 1st loop; too worried about survival the 2nd time.
I still have no idea about the Golden Ship, and I think I'm wore out on this one. I hate horis.

There's been a whole ton of posts explaining it already. Plant your options at the right side of the screen and sit there as the first two blue ships show up, the missiles will kill the blue ships without touching the engine or fins. The yellow ship shows up, destroy the engine first (it has more health), then the upper fin, then finish off the ship itself for the 100k.I still have no idea about the Golden Ship

You know, R-Type doesn't make your ship useless on spawn. Why not just give the "first" speedup + option as a freebie? No, that'd be too intelligent for Konami.
