I meant general info about the convention. Personally if I go I'll go for the whole thing, not just for street fighter!

I got back from Cumbria yesterday evening, a little later than planned, and was pleased to find that this has opened just around the corner from Casino: http://www.yaki.co.jp/index.html

I will be going there tomorrow with hzt to eat basically everything on the menu for lunch, and will then lurk in the arcade during the evening.

Anyone else down tomorrow? And spadgy, any chance we could have another go at coaxing The Engineer into installing your shiny new G-Net motherboard and a game?

Also DEL, everything seems to be going fine with the Olympics so far - let's hope it stays that way!

I'd actually like to come along to that, but as this is the last week of the olympics all my time is basically split between that and the STGT. Next week though James, I'm there!

A voice amidst the tumble-weed!

Anyone down tonight? I don't really want to play any games but I feel I've been neglecting the old place of late.

I am planning to go down later because I'm tired of being in my house.

I'll be in town this evening, so I might pop into Casino briefly - probably around 6. Illyrian, can you still make it this week?

Does anyone actually want to play any game in the crew? I think some of you guys need to take up fighting games so there's a little bit of competition in Casino sometimes :P

Make sure to glare at the employee for me while you're down in Casino not playing anything. I got told off last time for doing precisely that. I wonder what else I can do to annoy that guy...

Who do you think I am, I only do that with friends. Plus UK laws are very silly and you just can't carry whips around like that :|

Everything has gone to shit this week so once again I can't make it. And thanks to my lack of money now can't make it until next month >.< Who would have thought that 2 birthdays and 3 bills in the same week could reduce a bank account like that...

All in all very frustrating. I'll defo head down after I get paid to try and give progear a smacking amongst other things.

I know how boring it is playing fighting games against the computer, which is what I usually end up doing there when bored :P

It's beyond boring and into the realm of detrimental, other than raw hitconfirms and combo practice, I guess... I have no idea how people can stomach it in Casino :| (Also some of the cabs are set to hardest AI for added fun)

I understand you've been blessed with the holy grail that is King of Fighters 98. I'll try to be around next week briefly. More than happy to challenge you with my dream team if you're up for it (and both sticks are working properly.)

I'm not in London until next month (and not for very long then, sorry! I've only played KOF 98 very casually though, just enough to know it's a game I'd have gotten into if I'd been playing fighters (or any game) ten years ago...

Up there with Super Turbo as the best of all time imo. If the fact it's out of date is a turn off for learning it, just trip to Hong Kong or China - it's still everywhere you look!

You mean GGPO since I'd have better things to do than play games while on a trip! I do play ST and a bit of Vampire Savior on GGPO, the problem isn't being dated so much as most people who are sticking with it are years ahead and it's hell to catch up by yourself. Sure, if it was the dominant game in my local scene... but I hardly even have a scene in the first place with decent players.

Going to London in October and thought I'd drop by. Also, any tips on a great place to stay, preferrably with breakfast? 24th-26th.

Are any of you Casino blood-fiends interested in an unboxed disc of Arrow Video's House by the Cemetery DVD? I got sent a spare and it's going in the bin unless somebody with equally bad taste wants it.

Thanks, we've sorted a hotel. Main reason to visit London is watching Tenacious D. at the Hammersmith Odeon, but my buddy is onboard with a lenghty visit to Casino Arcade as well. :)

It's all yours dude. I didn't see this until today though so I don't have it with me.

I'll drop it in on Friday evening around 8:20 or so when I finish work if you're about?

Hi everyone, and so sorry for my three or four weeks off the radar (and over STGT to). I admit I've not read all of this thread since my hiatus, but I sense the ghost town vibe! so sorry if I've contributed to that, by my absence here and in person at the arcade.

in short, this month I've had a surprise holiday (to festival Boomtown) followed by a work trip to GDC Europe and Gamescom, both in Germany, and then almost straight after nearly a week in The Netherlands for the Unite games development conference. I've worked too many 19 hour+ shifts this month, and lost my life a bit. Frankly its been pretty horrid, but I still feel guilty for not checking in on here! I've got some other news too, but I'll keep that to one of the STGT emails or next time we meet in person (it's nothing major).

Anyway; it sounds like Casino needs some revitalising, before we all loose faith! I'll certainly start attending again regularly as of this week, be back on the forum spouting enthusiasm and hassling people to meet me down there, and be dead keen to get a new game installed.

New games is what we need, so how about I actually bring Castle Shiki in this coming week?

And I'll be in Thursday. I can't do Tuesday as that's magazine deadline day. And I'll bring Shiki then!

And so sorry about my STGT performance. Sadly it's not the only thing I've neglected of late.

So, who's down this week then! I really wanna see you guys!
