Stemming from a conversation on IRC:
Do you name your cars?
EDIT: And no environmental lecturing please, that is not the issue here.

Mine exists only in my mind. It will use pollution as fuel, and it will keep running forever.

My first car was a bright red 1980 Ford Pinto, which had the unhealthy habit of belching flames out the carb. My friends dubbed it 'The Chariot of Fire'.

Not currently but I refered to my first car (a little blue subaru) as "The Great Space Coaster."

haha well, I don't think this is technically a nickname for the car, but it's close. My driver's seat is red, while all the other seats are blue, so I call it "the captain's chair".

After the 3rd time the tranny was out, it gained the nickname "Lil Tubby" because the dang thing is heavy.
I also know my car is a dude because stamped into the steel on the bottom of the car in two different places is "MAN".

No... but I name my controllers and memory cards... girl names. Typically from H-games. And I have a small sticker with the girl's face on them. You know, just so I can tell apart otherwise identical items.

A friend of mine named her car 'Roxanne', because the check engine light was always coming on.

"Roxanne" is a song from the band Police.
"You don't have to walk the streets for money...you dodn't have to put on the red light. Roxanne..."

My car is Biscuit, but that's either same sex or N.O.T.A.--I haven't figured that out. [The real "Biscuit" is a gryphon.]
Of course, if Kiken would get his vanity plate already, we'd have Ikaruga cars

I once had a 88 Volvo that I called "The Junkmoblie" since there was always something wrong with it.
I call my 96 Explorer "The Big Green Thing."

I named mine "Gally" (she's a silver 2001 Chevy Malubu, just fyi), after the japanese name of Alita (from "Battle Angel Alita", or GUNNM for people with more than half a brain)
For Battle Angel/ Gunnm fans: yes, I even spent about an hour adding her "war paint" with red car paint, right under the headlights.
I'll take a picture sometime after I give her a touch-up job; the red's starting to flake off. :/

I named my car "Shitbag." Hell, I'm not even old enough to drive.
The radio said, "No, John. You are the demons."
And then, John was a zombie.
