I noticed something very odd about the original PCB music for Raiden II in Raiden Project. Either certain parts of the sound have been muffled or something else, but it definitely sounds completely different from the actual PCB music.
Here's stage 1's theme in Raiden Project: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHnR23UkjIk
And here it is from the PCB sound: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25BYW7Z468E
I think they may have tried to simulate it with the MIDI sequencer they used for the arrange music? Both themes sound good, in fact I think the Raiden X Flash game uses the Raiden Project versions.

The PSX ver. uses the console's internal sound chip. The music was recomposed by Go Sato.

I was wondering if I was the only one who noticed the difference.
It's really bloody noticeable with the first Raiden's music. To the point of annoyance actually - it just doesn't sound as good.

And if you listen to Interplay's PC version of Raiden II port, all the BGMs are done in 44.1kHz redbook audio format for your listening pleasure.
