Summer Wonderfest 2012 ---shmuppy garage kits

Post by greg »

I got back late last night from a weekend in Tokyo. I attended the Summer Wonderfest in Chiba-ken on Sunday. Aside from tons of anime stuff, I was pleasantly surprised to see so much Blade Runner love at the event, too. I saw lots of game-related figures (Rockman, Metroid, Zelda, Idolm@ster, Shining Hearts, etc) and garage kits of some neat stuff like plenty of R-Type ships, Gradius bosses like the Big Core, Xevious, the beautiful ship from Border Down, and even a real small Axelay ship. I'm still putting the video together. I'll send a link once I've uploaded it to YouTube.

Oh yeah, and one dude had a Mother 2 (Earthbound) mountain bike. That was pretty badass.

Shining Hearts
I'm pretty sure no one has actually played this game, they just fap to Tony Taka's artbooks. Just like Queen's Blade.

Yeah, except that the Shining girls are pretty. Queens Blade are a bunch of big-tittied sluts. I haven't played Shining Hearts, but I liked Shining Tears and Shining Wind. Tony's artwork is beautiful. Queens Blade is just fap fodder trash.

Okay, I had some problems with Windows Movie Maker and I had to make smaller parts of this and then combine those parts. It took a while, but here is the video.

Most of the shmup ships begin around the 39:17, starting with Axelay. There's even a garage kit of the tank from Assault!
