Problem with Supergun<Sync strike<GBS 8220

Post by Khan »

hi
So i bought a sync strike to try out my gbs 8220 board with my supergun on my lcd tv but im having problems it seems i get no picture i tried all the settings but nothing but a big screen full of crap for 1 second it shows artifacts then no signal :( i thought the board might be an issue so i plugged in my ps2 to try. The only way that worked was if i start a game then choose 60hz display mode then switch to the sync strike/board combo....when i boot the ps2 its a pal 50hz console so i only get a green screen it seems the gbs 8220 only works with 60hz?

I tried alot of combinations to try and get it to work on my supergun but i get nothing? any ideas where the fault lies?

EDIT: im using a 5v adapter to power the board and the sync strike is getting powered i think from the scart off the supergun

the sync strike can be finicky when it comes to power supplies, my guess is the power coming from the supergun isn't cutting the mustard. Luckily you can also power the sync strike directly from the GBS-8220. The GBS should have come with a black and red cable you can wire to the PSU posts on the sync strike, then you just need flip the switch on the sync strike to PSU and you're set.

you can use this nice guide from ArcadeForge as reference:

also I think I recall reading the GBS isn't compatible with PAL signals, but dont take my word for it

So I tried it and it worked thanks alot dude! I was almost thinking the board was borked and i would have had to fork out for a new one

so my next question is to get audio how do i get audio? since i cant hear any sound, i see theres two ports on the sync strike that say audio left/right

It's normal RCA / cinch. If your TV has no RCA audio in you'll most likely need a RCA to 3.5mm stereo plug adapter for a few cents.
