Yeah, spacing out the release dates of the extra tables between all the versions of the game available isn't doing them any favors. Hopefully they can get the development to where they can have future tables released for all versions at the same time.

That wasn't my point. Spacing out the release dates wasn't their choice. It's due to the different approval times for different consoles. Also, when something is rejected like with the first DLC for Xbox, they have to wait 3-4 more weeks to go through the process with Microsoft again. At least now, CV, Funhouse, MM, and BoP are being released at the same time.

Yesterday I received "Ultimate Pro Pinball" in the mail for the original xbox. It's a good little compilation featuring Fantastic Journey, Timeshock and Big Race. However, some of its minor faults leave me scratching my head: long load times, no HD visuals, no online leaderboards (not that it matters these days), and the optional motion blur from the Dreamcast Pro Pinball Trilogy is gone. Still, a nice collection that is good for those with a modded xbox (it's a PAL release).

Had a quick spin on the new Marvel tables. Seems like they're very fond of the '~6 ramps/orbits fanning out across the table' design these days;

Avengers
World War Hulk

Can't find a good pic of the 'Fear Itself' table, but it has a similar kind of style. This seems to have become more prevalent in the Marvel tables (see also Iron Man for another one like this). The new ones play fine and everything flows pretty well, but I'd like a bit more variety in basic design. Maybe they're saving their better ideas for the upcoming Zen Pinball 2.

Zen Studios' Marvel Pinball for the 3DS is slated to be out soon. Features four tables with 3D effects switchable on the fly.

Will be a d/l through the 3DS Nintendo Shop site.

Not sure how much I like the look of the new marvel tables. They remind me of X-Men from the Vengeance and Virtue set which I never really got on with.

Saying that I haven't touched Pinball FX2 much since Pinball Arcade made its way to XBLA. More regular tournaments would probably bring me back though.

It's such a drag having to wait for the new pinball arcade tables. I think they are on everything now except for 360.

I kind of like the new Infinity Gauntlet table in Pinball FX2. It kind of has a Medieval Madness vibe.

The Marvel Pinball 3D (from Zen Studios) for the 3DS is now available for d/l on the Nintendo E-Shop site with a release date of 7/1/2012. It's priced at $7.99 USD which is quite reasonable. The FMV footage of the MP-3D release is playable in 3D if so desired on the Ninty E-Shop as well.

Expect the usual 30fps framerate like with Zen's earlier 3DS pinball compliation.

It's region locked for US? I know that the PAL Taito Legends 2 for Xbox plays on US systems without modding. I checked some more info and it looks like Atomic Planet ported it. I think I'll skip that version since they have an iffy track record.

The four pinball tables: The Machine: Bride of Pinbot, Medieval Madness, Cirqus Voltarie & Fun House for the 360 Pinball Arcade compliation are being offered as two seperate d/l packs priced at 400 MSP each right now. The long wait is finally over.

They rule. I wound up going the PS3 route. Bride of Pin*Bot is easily my favorite machine now. Hopefully the other two packs will be released like they said this month (August). I only got to play a Creature From the Black Lagoon table once. Awesome machine! Kind of annoying they essentially put up one new table each pack and throw in one of their Williams Collection tables to complete the "pack".

Yeah, that's slightly annoying since I have the Williams Collection on PS3, but at least it's not entirely the same, what with the physics improvements and whatnot.

I picked up War Pinball HD for Android yesterday, because I was hankering for some mobile pinball action.

Best $3 I ever spent! It plays really nicely, and the phone display works really well for the playfield.

Pretty sure it's on iOS as well.

I had the pleasure of trying out the ol' Bride of Pinbot pinball machine at this past CAX weekend show. Sure does bring back some wonderful memories of playing it back in the early 1990s. That last sentence...certainly does ring true. ^_~

That third sequel of "Return of Pinbot" with the same exact layout of the original Pinbot pin is ace in my book as well.

I can't afford them at the moment, but I've heard the two Pinball Arcade DLC packs are currently lacking functional leaderboards. Is this right? Wouldn't be much point in playing until they fixed that, eh? :P

The leaderboards are working on the new tables on Xbox. I think they fixed the max score bug. There are a few top scores that aren't all nines on Theater of Magic now.

To be honest, I have no idea. I was always under the assumption that other region games (UK and Japan) wouldn't play on an unmodded XBOX. Not that I've ever tried though--I waited to get my system modded before I started toying around with import XBOX games.

I understand that Zen Pinball 2 will be an upgrade over the original Zen Pinball in terms of physics and graphics but is it also supposed to improve upon Pinball FX2? If Zen 2 is equal to or better than FX2, then the added Vita support (kudos to Pinball Arcade for starting that cross-compatibility feature) will make PSN my platform of choice for purchasing new tables. Then again, considering how poorly Zen 1 has been supported, it may not be wise to stray from FX2 no matter how good Zen 2 is.

Just a heads up: a couple of Pinball FX2 packs on sale on XBLA this week. (For non-gold members as well.) Vengeance & Virtue, and the FX2 core pack.
