Tate-ing Green Bar

Post by camredfield »

Hey, I'm new to the forums and I wanted to start off by asking a general question that I was curious about as far as 'tate'-ing TV's goes. Does every TV you've played tate had a green bar at the bottom of the screen? Is this normal, or at all harmful to the TV? I've tate-ed only Trinton TVs, as that's been my preference throughout life, so a little enlightenment would be nice.

Make sure you tate the TV while it is turned off.

That sounds like you haven't been turning off your TV when tateing it as what Stan said. Actually you want to turn it off and leave it for at least 15 minutes before rotating it.

Well, I'm glad it's not something terribly wrong with the TV. I have been flipping while it's off, except I've always waited for ten minutes, but I'll check to see if five more makes a difference. Thanks as well for the quick answer.

I always unplug the TV for some time before Tate-ing, and then wait a little while before pluging it back in a turning it on. It needs time to degauss. Been Tate-ing trinitrons for over 10 years, they are great CRTs.

They are God's TV. Absolute best of the best.
