OK, this was my (very strong) cup of manliness during my childhood. Dragon Ball Z is overrated. I laugh nostalgically when I remember how confused I was when I saw that episode in which Andromeda revived the Dove on the house of Scorpio

On a related note, I just saw the Hades Saga... and realized just how bland the whole series is. Call out the name of an attack, shoot some sort of alpha-blended elemental beam/fireball(s), argue about some moral standing, get a Deus Ex Machina, save Saori/Athena from whatever torture device she's strapped to...

Unless the Manga is any better, I'm glad I stopped following St. Seiya.

That guy wrote the music to a lot of TV shows (at least the German editions), among them Wickie, Marco, Sinbad, and Alice in Wonderland. And that's just the animated stuff. If you grew up in Germany watching TV during the late 70s / early 80s, there was practically no escaping his works.

Hah, I completely forgot about Wicki, than I looked up on Wikipedia and, lol, it was also made in Japan. Do we even make cartoons? Or do we just outsource them to Japan?

Heidi was a cooperation between a German TV channel ZDF and the Japanese Anime studio Nippon Animation. Funny how the English wiki doesn't explains this while the external links does.

It was about the time when Dexters lab appeared that animation, at least in my opinion, began taking a nose dive into the realm of lazy and ugly with very poor art direction.

Dexters lab was cool, but it's ugly as sin. Every cartoon I can recall after it's appearance looks as if it was drawn with a set square.

This style also represents the limits of my drawing ability. Suddenly, anyone could be a cartoonist- including me!
