Am I correct in thinking that these inputs only accept 240p / 480i signals and not 480p and above?
If so, will I need to run my Xbox1 in 480i mode and have the iScan scale it to 1080p on my TV? Is anyone currently doing this?
Lastly, does the iScan produce and noticeable lag?
Question re Component Inputs on iScan HD+
Re: Question re Component Inputs on iScan HD+
the iScan HD+ accepts 480p via component just as well (and even 720p and 1080i).
There is some lag on the iScan, but it's not higher than on other processors in the same league.

Re: Question re Component Inputs on iScan HD+
Thanks Fudoh. I've since found that it just passes the 720p through.
For my Wii, should I set it to 240p (in the emulators) or 480p before feeding the signal to the iScan HD+? For the Xbox, should I use 480p or just pass through the 720p signal?
Im also confused about getting audio
. The iScan HD+ will connect to the SLG 3000 via VGA and then to my TV via VGA. VGA doesn't carry audio. Can i just use a cable from the digital audio out (coaxial) on the iScan HD+ to the mini PC jack on my TV?
Do you think the lag will be discernible playing SNES/MD games?

Re: Question re Component Inputs on iScan HD+
480p from the Wii is likely better as it requires less processing in the iScan. Might be faster as well. For my Wii, should I set it to 240p (in the emulators) or 480p before feeding the signal to the iScan HD+? For the Xbox, should I use 480p or just pass through the 720p signal?
Does 720p make sense on the XBox1 ? Which games support 720p ?
If you use a SLG3000 behind the iScan you can't use the iScan's scaling engine anyway, so it's 480p in, 480p out. You cannot (properly) scanline 720p material.
I don't know your TV. Coax is probably out of the question. You might run an optical connection if your TV's mini jack does indeed accept digital signals. If it's just an analogue input, you can't do it this way.Can i just use a cable from the digital audio out (coaxial) on the iScan HD+ to the mini PC jack on my TV?
SNES > iScan > TV should still be faster than SNES > TV, so I wouldn't worry about it.Do you think the lag will be discernible playing SNES/MD games?
If you mainly want to use 480p sources, I would recommend using a transcoder instead of a VP like the iScan. The SLG limits your output resolution and the iScan adds more lag than a transcoder. The only advantage of the iScan is that you can feed 240p (which isn't neccessary for emulation) and you can see 480i content.
Re: Question re Component Inputs on iScan HD+
Thanks again.
All I really want to do is get scanlines on the emulators as they don't support them in software. Hence, I need the SLG3000. That only accepts VGA which my Wii and Xbox1 don't have (couldn't find any X2VGA). Thus, I need the iScan...
I based my research on this site:
http://www.1emulation.com/forums/topic/ ... p-vs-480p/
Where it states that:
Note: The Xbox outputs YUV component, which is then transcoded to VGA by DVDO iScan HD. The signal is passed through an SLG3000 for scanline emulation as well.
Is this, in fact, wrong?
Any particular transcoder? HDBox maybe?
The advantage of the iScan is that it has svideo inputs and I need that for my N64 as my TV does not have this connection.
Alternatively, I just get a FrameMeister and be done with it

Re: Question re Component Inputs on iScan HD+
I don't say that it doesn't work. If you have indeed 15khz sources like your N64, then the iScan is nice.
Re: Question re Component Inputs on iScan HD+
I'll buy the iScan. This way I can at least connect all three systems in one box and get scanlines at the other end through the SLG3000.
