Background of a Progear board bought in Paris

Hi all,
On a visit to Paris last week I got my hands on a japanese Progear No Arashi cps2 board.
On the back of the cartridge the name "Philippe Chaumulon" and the number 1573 is engraved with a loose hand.
Its a Phoenixed Japanese original. I had it opened this morning to verify that it had the daughter board characteristic of Progear.

I know this board have French readers, are there any of you who know the history of this board?

Philippe Chaumulon was a really good friend of Charles IX of France. Back in the day, they loved to play CPS2 games for some reason. Anyways, one day they're just mindlessly playing Progear on Phils arcade machine, when they finally got the scoring system. Charles was the one that discovered the dialectic relationship between violence and diamonds.
"You know...", Philippe said to Charles, that just might work in real life, too!"

"Well, all we do is using violence against a small and helpless nation, and what do we get in return? Diamonds! Shiny diamonds!"

Now about that Mars Matrix board I found wrapped in a red robe , serial 000 with the initials P. Pilatus carved in to it .......

I was of course aware of the origin of the board, however, there are some years between 1573 and now where I have blanks in the history of the board.

In which direction? We have a pretty good handle on the uses of CPS-2 boards over the years, but there are some uncountable gaps in that account, for instance:

The fine engravings of Jacques Callot reveal that soon before the period of 1630 it was common practice for Protestants and Catholics to distinguish themselves on the field of battle with one type of chest plate or the other - blue or green for Catholics, grey for Protestants (although Dutch soldiers in the 30 years' war often wore green plates for some reason). But before this period the origins of the plates are highly disputed; in the early 1920s the mystic Aleister Crowley briefly suggested that the familiar B board shape was a kind of "celestial surfboard" for leprechauns docking at Abbeys, which might suggest why Crowley chose Sicily as the site of his own Abbey of Thelema, as the region has many traditional buildings with roofing tile clearly reminiscent of the CPS-2 A board style. To this day the expulsion of Crowley from the country by Benito Mussolini's fascists is a matter of debate. By the 1980s, modern paleontologists such as Bob Bakker discovered that a CPS-2 "A" style board is just the right size to fit within a Tyrannosaurus Rex's stubby foreclaw, and it was further postulated that the highly misunderstood ancient dinosaur nobility used them either as drinks trays or something similar. However, it was not until the development of high-speed consumer electronics interfaces in 1992 that saw the modern popularity of the ancient devices resurgent, as they were once again used for their original purpose of playing arcade games.

How did the dinosaurs manage to build them, or, if so, where are the original "B" data boards that reveal their original purpose? There is ample speculation that the Capcom company actually is a (possibly rogue, which might account for a long-running streak of unexplained street battles) spin-off of Capsule Corporation, which reportedly has developed anti-gravity and even time machines. If so, the CPS-2 system would merely represent a historical development of that company's famed DynoCap line, and in technology it has clearly been superseded recently. But there you have it; truth is much stranger than fiction.

I thought by now the masses would have opened their eyes to the truth that CPS-2 boards could only have been given to us by a highly advanced alien civilization(the same which created us in the first place, obviously), with the intent of teaching us useful skills like self-defence, advanced problem solving and the handling of flying vehicles, so that one day we may conctact our creators again.

A big thumbs up for Jockel's PCE-FX! type of parody posting. So that explains the mysterious origins of the fabled French CPS-2 mobo and it's development in secrecy...I would've have never known that myself. As the ol' saying goes: You learn something new everyday...ain't that right, son? ^_~

About that Mars Matrix board with the 000 serial number...what's the insider scoop on how it came to be found inside a red robe of all places? It could be an important clue indeed.

Perhaps P. Pilatus was the original owner of this fabled MM board and lovingly would carefully place it in a fine red silk robe after playing it on a candy cab. Nothing like the luxrious feel of fine silk running through one's fingers...one of life's finer pleasures. And just how was he able to get ahold of this serial "000" numbered MM board? Perhaps the aliens were able conjure such a MM board from nothingness and it slowly materialized into being. Created absolutely perfect with no bugs throughout it's coding. How could this be...such an impossibility become a reality?

What was really interesting about this fabled "000" MM board, is that it could change the gameplay and game mechanics at will with a simple thought from P. Pilatus if he so wished to change the coding. So in a sense, this was no ordinary MM board at all.
