Cool, then you can add "0x20 = Taiwan" to the page.rtw wrote:@channelmaniac, that email address is for the old WOA I am the current maintainer

68k/68000 Rob has a Viper Phase 1 Taiwan cart/motherboard. I fixed it over this past weekend. He posted a pic of it on Facebook.

Hey, the back arrows on the top of the page have an incorrect hyperlink on them... "file:///L:/woa/APPA_Info_Seibu_SPISystem.htm" is incorrect.rtw wrote:@channelmaniac, that email address is for the old WOA I am the current maintainer

@channelmaniac, all links are broken because the page hierarchy is wrong, I can fix it later.
Would you be so kind to dump this Taiwan version so it can be included in MAME ? And snap a picture of the ROM board please.

Many of the ROMs are soldered in... I can do it if Rob's comfortable with me doing surgery on it.rtw wrote:@channelmaniac, all links are broken because the page hierarchy is wrong, I can fix it later.

Re: Seibu SPI Region errors?
Hello guys,
I recently bought a Seibu Mobo with Raiden Fighters from an American seller.
I supprose that the region of the game and mobo is USA since all the game is in english without any Japanese word.
I bought 2 weeks ago Raiden Fighters 2, the cartbridge only, i swapped the JP121 switch and i got this error :

Do i have the Japanese version of the game ?
If so, i have to buy a Japanese mobo right ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Seibu SPI Region errors?
A Japanese friend told me that it's written : Checksum Error.
What's the problem ? Motherboard ? Cartridge ?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Seibu SPI Region errors?
Indeed it says checksum error. That would suggest a problem with the cassette. However somebody else will need to weigh in here. 6561 doesn't look like it indicates an exact trouble ROM, but maybe the system internally uses some different labeling than the printed labels for ROMs (which are labeled like PRG1 and so on if memory serves).
For now, it might be helpful if you check the setting of the jumpers, especially JP1.

It's a fake warning. It means that the region is invalid. Just open the cart and snap a picture and we'll tell you which chip to reburn.Ed Oscuro wrote:Indeed it says checksum error

Re: Seibu SPI Region errors?
Inside RF1 US :

I changed the PRG0 eprom with the eprom number 1 of the RF1 US game since they have the same number : U0211, and i had a black screen when i tried RF2, nothing happened, only a black screen without any message.
Maybe i should burn a modified PRG0 file from the mame rom.

Re: Seibu SPI Region errors?
To avoid the guessing game, snap a picture of your RF1 cart, dump program PRG0 and upload it somewhere, your motherboard might NOT be US. Who is the licensee on your RF1 cart ?

Re: Seibu SPI Region errors?
I have a Raiden Fighters 2 boardset with the exact same problem (Japanese text, 6561). I can't tell what regions my board and cart are from.
Can someone tell me what region pieces I have, and how to fix it?
Here's some pics.
