Yeah, I beat the game on an easier level to get maniac mode and I lost it. :(

Same reason first-time purchasers who have never had the original version aren't experiencing problems. Luckily the warning was already on the App Store description when I got around to switching to my NA account.

Ah that makes sense. I just play them standing in line someplace or something.. nothing I care about.

yeah i just tried deleting and reinstalling the app to fix the whole no-launch problem and now things work normally. I had to unlock Maniac and Ultra again, but at least it kept my high scores and achievements intact. PLUS I can confirm that the new version launches much faster, so end of the day to me it was worth updating

I have to say, now that the game works for me, the loading times are much more bearable now.

Yes, the load times seem a lot better on my iPad 1. Haven't played much on the new update, but no crashes so far.

Yeah, because unlocking maniac and ultra takes such an incredible amount of time.

Just play easy and continue mash. Original is my least favorite mode on the ios. So far, I can never die doing the whole thing on hard. Working on 1ccing hard on maniac now. I liked this one so much, I got the rom for futari just to get some more of this style.

Wow. Another port already? These are coming crazy fast! Seems like they found a good routine with just putting these on iOS as more or less basic ports without any extra modes, and I actually like that. And it´s not even a week away.

But what I really want is a quick snack of PORK on the go

Had a feeling that Futari was next to be ported. It made commercial sense really, seeing as how the first game is already available and the sequel is fairly popular due to it being region free on the Xbox. Hope it sells well for 'em, although I can't imagine the weapon switching for score mechanic being as comfortable on it compared to PCB/console.

Edit: Actually, wait. If your movement speed is no longer restricted based on whether you're using the rapid or focused shot, wouldn't that actually make it a whole lot easier to just sail around the screen lasering stuff? You'd just need to quickly switch back to rapid to vacuum bullets I guess, probably not too bad controlwise. Would make Reco Abnormal actually viable too seeing as her focused shot wouldn't make you sail around the screen (I actually kinda like her even though her focused shot appears to be weaker than Palm Normal's unless you've got all of the lock-on beetles attached to a boss).

Absolutely, but on the other hand these ports cost about the same as your average bagel, and for that I really enjoy them. I kinda killed my enjoyment of the iOS ports on the earlier releases by taking them too seriously (and being too weak to resist buying the insanely overpriced DLC weapons for Deathsmiles), but nowadays I just set them to the easier settings and cruise through them while I´m on the subway or whatever. (And now that I think about it, the iOS ports are about the only iOS games I still play on a semi-regular basis anymore.)

Just got 1.0.4 tonight for my Mum who quite enjoyed playing the Lite version. Glad to have gotten someone into the shmup scene besides myself.

No idea what the changes are though. I had to actually go to the App Store's page for it just to figure out what version number it was.
